My chosen organization is St. Mary's Healthcare System based in the State of Georgia, United States. The organization provides care services to communities, businesses, and families in the Northeast of Georgia. Amongst the services offered include cardiology, clinical laboratory, pediatrics, and care after discharge emergency care, infusion suite, industrial medicine, home care amongst many others (Nelson & Gardent, 2011). The organization also provides services for older adults, outpatient, orthopedics, sleep disorder, rehabilitation, surgery, wellness, maternity for women and other healing services.

The mission of the organization is to compassionately serve together in the spirit of the Gospel and to transform healing presence within its communities. The mission is to be an innovative health organization which will become a national leader to help improve the health of its communities and the people it serves (Graber & Kilpatrick, 2008). The organization also envisions being the most trusted health partner by the communities. The values of St Mary's Hospital include reverence, whereby the organization honors dignity and sacredness of every individual, justice, where it seeks to achieve right relationships to help promote common good, stewardship in which the organization honors its heritage and hold itself accountable for the financial, human and natural resources entrusted in its care, and integrity whereby the organization is faithful to what it says it is (Harris, 2010). Also, the organization values its commitment to the poor people and those who are vulnerable.

While the hospital has tried to live to its mission, vision and value statement, the hospital has been several found to contradict its integrity values. The hospital authority was found in 2017 to not have performed its financial audit for six years. Its failure to conduct an audit is not a new complain. In 2011, the hospital was sued by Jeremy Spencer to perform the audit. In 2009, one of the hospital's authority member stated that the hospital was acting outside the law since it failed to oversee funding for indigent patient care as required by the Georgia Law.

Organization's climate refers to the perceptions of the workers in the organization while culture refers to how the community or people outside feel about the organization, its values, beliefs, assumptions, and standard of behaviors (Hamric, Hanson, Tracy & O'Grady, 2013). In the case of St Mary's hospital, the organization has earned great respect both from outside and inside with many people trusting its services. As a nurse leader, it is important to examine these factors in order to know where to enact change. The knowledge would also help to gauge how the community feels about the organization.
