Organizational level 1. The theory that would apply here is the theory of classical management. This theory espouses the idea that stakeholders and management need to align the workplace structure to the purpose and everything else will fall into place. It focuses on the hierarchy of the organization and the attainment of the mission without considering an employee’s social needs. There’s also need to have a simple hierarchical structure in order to give a clear definition to the vision. The best response, in this case, is refining. Where instead of constantly adopting a boss mentality, management needs to consider the employees’ ideas and their social needs. Encourage innovation and suppress autocracy. This will result in the improvement of their incentives and work output.
Organizational level 2. Entity culture and strategy. The theories to be applied here are the classical administrative management theory by Henry Fayol and Argyris’ organizational value system. They focus on the organization’s way of doing things and the organization’s mission. There’s need to establish a unity of command, a defined vision and unity of direction, better remuneration and centralizing authority such that directions are in unison and all come from one source. The need for order and equity in employee management is very central to the organization’s culture. The best challenge, in this case, would be shaping and defining roles.

Organizational level 3. Departments and Structure. The theory that applies here is Fayol’s administrative theory, and the specific principle is managing the departmental task organization. There is a need for restructuring and establishing unity of command and centralization of authority and direction such that a clear set of instructions is given to the employees. Employees’ opinions also need to be heard and valued. The best response here would be involving all the contributors in the organization.
Organizational level 4. Teams and Goals. This is still on Fayol’s theory of classical administrative management, Homan’s work groups’ theory and Herzberg’s motivation theory. The focus should be given to the departments’ organization in terms of command unification and employee motivation. There is a need for employee motivation in the form of team building other than the departmental organization. The appropriate responses to this challenge would be focusing and unifying.
Organizational Level 5. Individuals and Tasks. The theory here is Herzberg’s motivation-hygiene theory and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. In order for employees to carry out tasks effectively, then hygiene factors and their needs have to be met. Employee motivation is also central to effective delivery. This can be done by encouraging employees to further their skills and education, providing a conducive work environment and making them aware that they are valued. The appropriate response to this challenge is enabling, empowering and engaging (Jones, 2013).
