The topic of the research is how Elizabeth 1: The Virgin Queen was able to rule on her own without a king by her side. Elizabeth 1 vowed not to engage in any marital affair, where she ruled as a celibate queen. The view of Elizabeth 1 to abstain from marriage was as a result of the societal perception of women who were made inferior. Thus she did not want to be unequal to men. This paper, in general, will investigate challenges Elizabeth 1: The Virgin Queen went through as unmarried queen.
In this research paper, I will draw my data on diaries located at the library which will be majorly both the primary and secondary sources which will include books, scholarly journals, and articles, peer-reviewed source, newspaper, and magazine as well as biographies.
