Methods
To provide an in-depth understanding of Arab Women in Israeli society participation in sporting activities, as well as physical fitness, qualitative research will be selected as the most appropriate method. The research method will be used to describe and understand the social and cultural situations of groups or individuals in-depth. Qualitative research design entails direct quotations from participants about their individual experiences, opinions, feelings, as well as attitudes.
The purpose of the interview will enable the researcher to enter into the individual Arab women’s perspectives and opinions concerning participating in sporting activities. Therefore, during the study, focus group interviews will be conducted in schools, especially targeting female teachers. Besides, to gain a deeper understanding of participants' perception or views in participating in sports, semi-structured interviews will be used. It is anticipated that the teachers' responses will provide an insight into the women's like or dislikes of participating in sporting activities of physical fitness. The focus groups will be of heterogenic composition. Ten female teachers will be selected for each group. Also, the participants will be selected as those who support participating in sporting activities and those who dislike participating in sporting activities.
The data obtained from the focus groups will be analyzed through the use of a comparative approach to qualitative analysis. The researcher will focus on the patterns from the information gathered from the focus groups, which will be sorted in categories. The information will be classified through a system that will be used by the researcher to substantiate the appropriateness, as well as the accuracy of the categories, which will be used as the primary source to design the questionnaire. Finally, the questionnaire will be used to examine the level of awareness, and the attitudes of Arab women in Israeli society's participation in sporting activities.
