Heart failure is a disease that brings about the serious functional limitations that tend to affect the normal life of a victim or patient. CHF requires a patient to undergo close monitoring from competent nurses in order to identify as well as respond to the needs and changes in physiological data. Mr. P, in this context, should ensure he visits a hospital to get checked and educated on what he should do and what he should not do in order to try and treat the heart disease. It is the most significant first step to take for patients suffering from chronic heart failure (Hosenpud & Greenberg, 2007). The risk of death is usually reduced whenever a patient is examined by nurses who are academically prepared and are accurate in what they do. Competent nurses decrease the chances of death of patients with chronic heart failure by about 30%. Mr. P ought to consider looking for a hospital that has quality nursing care for him to get the required treatment. Good nurses and doctors will also be advised on how to handle the other diseases that affect him.

There are several means in which patients like Mr. P can be treated in order to keep them healthy and free from the risk of death. Beta blockers and digoxin are medication plans that can be applied to a patient to help improve the functioning of the heart. They also work to stop as well as prevent many other complications that may arise as a result of CHF. However, it is important to note that Digoxin is selectively applied to some patients and not others. It reacts with different bodies in different ways. Patients are also advised to seek medication and treatment that tend to regulate high cholesterol, diabetes, as well as high blood pressure. CHF patients are also encouraged to practice lifestyle habits that are healthy in nature in order for them to reduce the risks. A patient like Mr. P is required to maintain a body weight that is healthy and major in doing exercising regularly in order to strengthen the muscles of the body as well as the heart. Patients with CFH should also eat a diet that is healthy and one that does not affect the heart. They should avoid taking salty food by all means. They are also required to avoid taking beer and other alcoholic drinks (Johnson & Lehman, 2006).

The family of the patient should be educated on how to take care of him or her when they are at home where nurses are not available. Encouraging the family to show care to the patient helps them to feel loved and cared for, and this increases the chances of the patient recovering faster than expected. The attention plays a significant role in providing moral support to the patient, and this goes a long way (Hosenpud & Greenberg, 2007). The family should remind the patient to take their medication. They should also help the patient to eat a balanced diet that has been recommended by the doctor. The family can as well help the patient to do his daily exercise.

In conclusion, the family members should also monitor the patient and ensure they rush him or her to the hospital in case the situation worsens. CHF affects every family member whenever one of them suffers from it. They should, therefore, cooperate to make the life of the patient better every day for them to be happy as well. Doctors and nurses are supposed to do a follow-up to ensure that their patient is doing fine.
