In this article, the author seeks to examine the issue of patient safety from the perspective of exposure to increased medical errors. The focus for the article is to examine how health care facilities may work towards reversing the increasing cases of medical errors contributing to a poor environment for patient safety. The author reflects on the negative impacts associated with medical errors on the health outcomes associated with patients suffering from a wide array of medical conditions. That goes against the expectation for all nurses, which is to work towards ensuring that patients are accorded a safe environment, which would enhance the overall possibility of positive health outcomes. The article embarks on an in-depth examination of how health facilities would be able to build on patient safety as a way of ensuring that patients are accorded the best possible health care services to avoid the possibility of medical errors. The focus for this article is to suggest that nurses have the capacity of ensuring that they create an environment that would support of project positive health based on the environment.

The authors indicate that majority of nurses fail in their bid to promoting positive nursing due to their failure to understand that one of their fundamental roles is to ensure that they accord safety to their patients. Patient safety seeks to build on the confidence levels of the patients from where they would be in a better position within which to build on positive health outcomes. In the article, the authors seek to reflect on the fact that adoption of Florence Nightingale’s environmental theory would help build an avenue from which create a major shift in delivery of quality health services. The prospective outcome of this patients would be accorded a safe health care environment to help build on positive health outcomes.

One of the key aspects to note is that Florence Nightingale’s environmental theory acts as one of the theoretical concepts that seek to build on the underlying expectation of health care environments. The author examines how the theory may be used to determine the impacts of the health care environments with the specific focus being towards building that progressive avenue from which to examine the issue of patient safety. The author also seeks to suggest that patient safety would only be possible in the event that nurses understand the extent to which their nursing environments are affecting their abilities to deliver. That would seek to suggest that indeed nurses would work towards building a progressive understanding on how they would use their environments to promote patient safety.
