Apostle Paul commonly referred to as Saint Paul in biblical terms, and Saul of Tarsus in Hebrew was a devoted Christian who spread the teachings of Jesus Christ in the 21st century. In the New Testament, Saint Paul designed the epistle to Philippians which acted to guide Christians to overcome their daily problems of life by remaining faithful to God. Faith in Paul’s Letter
Firstly, the language of faith in the letter of Paul is written which had a great meaning towards Christians. In Philippians 1:6, Paul's letter said that 'I am certain that a Christian, who begins good work and ultimately finishes it, will be rewarded when Jesus Christ s returns to the earth and the Day of Judgment' ( Bible, Revised Standard Version , n.d). This means that Christians should always do good deeds because they will be rewarded when Jesus comes back.

In modern society, Christian's good deeds towards others can be exemplified through kind acts like food and clothes donations towards the homeless and the needy in the society, charitable organizations donating medical aid and food to war-torn countries like Syria and Yemen, Tithes and offerings meant for church developmental purposes. Furthermore, Christians have kept the faith by daily worships and prayers.
Secondly, in Philippians 1:7, the letter outlined that 'it is right for Christians to feel the presence of Jesus Christ through prayers, even when they are imprisoned and defending themselves against harm from others' ( Bible, Revised Standard Version , n.d). This is achieved when Christians have extreme faith even when they are faced with trying moments like ridicule, imprisonment, and harm from their enemies.
In our modern world, Christians maximize on this faith by constantly having daily prayers which enrich their spiritual positions to survive through trying moments. The moments can be financial difficulties, barrenness, unemployment, homelessness, and daily ridiculed enhanced to them by anti-Christ agents. To counter this, Christians have faith in their daily prayer undertakings.
Thirdly, in his letter, Saint Paul said that 'some people preach Christianity from envy and hatred, but devoted Christians always preach in faith and in-depth goodwill. Philippians 1:16 postulated that Christians should preach and defend the gospel because of the love and faith they have towards Jesus Christ ( Bible, Revised Standard Version , n.d). In today's world, this can be noted because some Churches have sprouted to business in the name of preaching the gospel.
For example, some churches have priests that fake preaching and gospel by performing miracles to the needy and helpless in society. Such a church's purpose sole is to make money from fake miracles. But in his letter, Saint Paul said that Christians and the church as a whole must always preach through love and faith they have towards Jesus Christ. But some churches preach the truth based on Paul's teaching about have holistic faith.
Fourthly and based on Philippians 1:19, the letter from Paul opined that Christians shall rejoice through prayers and the help from the spirit from Jesus Christ ( Bible, Revised Standard Version , n.d). Furthermore, such faithful prayers shall deliver Christians from sinful acts they have committed. In addition, Philippians 1:20 argued that through hope, Christians have faith that their bodies will honor Jesus Christ whether alive or dead.
Fifthly, the letter said that Paul hoped that Jesus would send Timothy to him so that he may be cheered by the Christians (Philippians 2:19). Timothy was a mentor to Saint Paul throughout his missionary undertakings. Paul met Timothy when he was on his second missionary journey. The hope and faith Paul had finally become true when he met Timothy. Furthermore, Timothy became a vital mentor during his missionary journey.
From such hope and faith, Christians in the modern world should also have extreme faith in Jesus Christ when they need favors from him. For example in barrenness, families should always pray and have faith that in one day, Jesus will ultimately hear their prayers by giving them, babies. Philippians 2:22 further outlines that Timothy's worth was like that of a son and a father serving and enhancing gospel throughout the second missionary.
Sixthly, Paul's faith was seen when the Lord sent to him Epaphroditus as a brother, messenger, and fellow soldier during his ministering and missionary activities (Philippians 2:25). Furthermore, Saint Paul commended Epaphrodi'tus as a Philippi Christian who lived his life out of love and faith. In addition, Paul postulated that Epaphrodi'tus was an exemplary faithful Christian because he did spread the word of God.
Specifically, God had mercy on Saint Paul when he was ill and nearly died when he sent Epaphrodi'tus to him as a messenger and fellow missionary worker (Philippians 2:27). Furthermore, Epaphrodi'tus undertook the missionary work wholeheartedly and faithfully on behalf of Saint Paul when he was sick. In this perspective, it urges modern Christians to serve the Lord in faith and hope even when they are ill because the Lord will send them their helpers and messengers during such distressing situations.
Lastly, in Philippians 2:2, Apostle Paul had faith when he told Philippians and all Christians in the whole world that they should complete Paul’s joy by being on the same mind with Paul’s deeds, having love towards Jesus Christ and by being full accord having the same mind ( Bible, Revised Standard Version , n.d). Furthermore, Paul hoped the Philippians will never do anything from selfish or conceit (Philippians 2:3).
In conclusion, Apostle Paul was a devoted and exemplary leader who had immense faith and love throughout his missionary in Philippians. The letter to Philippi must always be followed and adhered to by modern Christians by faithfully preaching and spreading the word of God.
