The decision in regards to what is right or wrong is often made based on certain standards that have been set. In engineering, ethics permeates every level of its activity to ensure that is done in accordance to universal guidelines. Duty -based Approach often emphasizes the significance of the existence of individual driven will and one’s intentions as well as the presence of the all knowing and omnipresent God who sees all things including the interior mental state. According to Kant, it is important to indulge in actions that have positive impacts all creatures positively regards of whether someone is watching or not. This theory can be of great importance to science and engineering the fields tend to impact people greatly including the surround environment. Therefore, based on the Non-Consequentialist theory, both scientists and engineers ought to act as rational creatures and autonomously to ensure public safety and minimize risks.

Professional engineers and scientists working in the public sector are obliged to serve as guardians of the numerous health, safety as well as well as welfare arising issues. Both engineering and science ethics should approve only inventions, drawings and plans that are consistent with the science and engineering standards. In many ways, they should ensure that the standards are in line of defense in guarding the public against negative impact.
