There is little difference between a physically unfit person and a smoker. Being physically inactive affects your health adversely. You stand a high chance of suffering a cardiovascular disease and other bad conditions. Being less active increases your chances of experiencing high blood pressure tremendously. Studies have shown that an active person has a lower chance of developing coronary heart disease than a person who does not exercise. It can also lead to depression and anxiety. Physical inactivity puts at a risk of suffering from certain cancers. The only way to escape all these risks is by involving yourself in physical exercise regularly as asserted by Coker, et al. (2000)
Stress can easily make you sick. Not only does stress make you feel awful, it exacerbates a lot of health conditions. There are many health problems that occur as a source of being stressed out. Stress increases and worsens conditions like heart disease, obesity, depression, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, asthma and gastrointestinal problems. You should look for ways of relieving stress to lower the health risks that are associated with it.

When I’m not studying, I exercise by playing football or riding a bicycle. I only do either of these things in the evenings when I’m not so busy. I walk to many places like the supermarket instead of taking a cab or the bus. Basically, I take a lot of fruits in the morning accompanied by tea and bread. At lunch time I take a light snack which may at times be followed by some yogurt or natural juice. In the evening I take a heavy family meal at home.
To improve my eating habits, I can try to eat a healthy meal instead of grabbing a snack. When I’m taking snacks, I should eat from a plate instead of eating from a package to control the amount I eat. I can replace the juice with water at times. For my physical exercises, I can increase the time that I play football or ride a bike to forty minutes and do it regularly. I can also try to do some squats to strengthen my muscles and enhance my body movement. I can also put yoga in my schedule for mind and body relaxation.
Mind-body connection refers to the act of using your thoughts to improve the physical condition of your body. The process works both ways; by improving your physical state, you enhance your mental state. The best way to improve the mind-body connection is by adopting healthy lifestyle changes that help you part ways with stress. You should also go for the lifestyle changes that help you to increase your body’s strength as well as enhance your state of mind. That way your body heals itself naturally ( World Health Organization, 2002).
