The formal characteristics for the different creative expressions are; theme, style, pattern, and context. Artists are guided by the style, pattern, and theme in constructing the various forms of expression while context helps in the interpretation of the creative expressions . Picasso’s Guernica, Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls, and Casa Blanca are ideal creative works of art that express the feelings of various human societies regarding the horrors of World War II. 

Analysis of Picasso's Guernica Regarding the Subject of World War II Horrors 

Guernica is a famous oil painting that was designed by Picasso after the 1937 bombing of the Basque city in Spain by the Germans during World War II. Analytically, Picasso used human and animal images predominantly in the larger images of the painting to depict the suffering caused by the war to both humans and animals. Besides, the choice of grey, black, and white colors in the painting are to depict the realism of the night time color patterns formed during night strikes, and Picasso applies the colors to project terror-stricken faces of both animals and humans. The painting is a form of art that depicts the suffering of World War II caused the Basque City residents and animals.

Analysis of Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls Regarding the Subject 

The literature work by Hemingway reveals the Spanish civil war, which broke between the end of World War I and the beginning of World War II. According to the literature work, the war was fought between fascists sponsored by Nazi Germany and fascists Italy versus the republicans who were supported by the Russians. The storyline of Hemingway's literature projects antagonism between Robert and Pablo as they plan to fight the Fascists through bombing a bridge. Analytically, the literature work projects the contribution of world wars in creating an undue rift between members of the society who previously coexisted peacefully. Besides, the idea of bombing a bridge depicts those notions of destruction which human society learned during the World Wars. Hemingway uses the literary work to present the large-scale destruction of property, and the massive loss of innocent lives caused the war. 

Analysis of the Casa Blanca Film Regarding the Subject 

The film Casa Blanca reveals that during World War II, fighters were fleeing Europe for safety, and the sailing journey mainly landed fighters to the Moroccan coastal city of Casa Blanca. According to the film, the city was the only place were sailors could access passage to Portugal, which was less chaotic compared to the rest of Europe. The film uses Café American to reveal the historical encounters of various characters in the movie. Analytically, the film depicts the inescapable nature of the implications of World War II to the human society of the time. The interaction of characters in the film reveal the difficulty for neutrality during the course of World War II and the impossibility of any human to distance him or herself with the bloody results of the war. The film expresses the massive suffering, loss of lives, and destruction of property during the war.
