The ONC cures act final rule is one of the significant milestones in healthcare informatics policymaking. One of the main objectives of the act is the creation of a platform by stakeholders in the healthcare industry, one which ensures patients can easily access their electronic healthcare information, hence, be able to make informed healthcare-related decisions. At the same time, the act gives patients more power and control over their electronic data. Other provisions by the rule are concerned with the certification related to healthcare information technology providers, regulations associated with the blocking information from patients, and certification of health IT for application among Pediatric healthcare providers, among others( Barlas, 2019).

The regulation in question will influence the comprehensive design of a standardized application programming interface (APIs), one which will ensure ease of access to electronic data by patients ( Lye et al., 2018) . Since there are other dynamics, such as ensuring transparency and efficiency in data access, three fundamental tenets of system implementation will come in handy to provide a functional system. The conceptual, logical, and physical designs must be strategically made while having in mind the end-user.

ONC cures act final rule is likely to increase efficiency in clinical care while at the same time easing communication and interaction between healthcare providers and patients. Since making available information to patients makes them decide the kind of treatment they want in advance, it is possible that patients will have explored multiple choices before settling on the best. Medical personnel will hence experience fewer dilemmas regarding how to approach different situations in a way that is agreeable to the patient. Besides, because patients are likely to be more informed by virtue of having all the information they need, workflow, especially for providers, will be less complicated ( Barlas, 2019) . This is because the healthcare provider will only need to complement the patient’s idea or decision other than advising them from scratch.

One of the policies that will still be paramount is information confidentiality. Since the system is likely to serve a lot of users, there will be a need to enhance information security. At the same time, policies such as access and use of information and the patient’s autonomy will come in handy ( Lye et al., 2018) . To ensure better incorporation of the system into the organization, a simple but indispensable procedure will be followed by my organization. First, instituting the necessary infrastructure will be the first undertaking. Training of healthcare providers on how to interact with the system will then follow. Patients will afterward be sensitized about the system through the organization’s website and through online forums.
