History plays an essential part in the society that enables present generations to understand concepts and ideas that dominate the different aspects of life in the economic, social as well political setups. It has so contributed to positive projection about future events and, thus, history adds an important subject and aspects in the society. It provides a lesson that people learn and, hence, many good aspects experienced today are linked with the lessons that history brought from analysis of the experiences and variables that happened in the past. The United States is among countries that have a rich history in the world due to its active participation and engagement in the global affair that has impacted and touched on the sectors of the economy. Analysis of such history is, thus, essential to empower people with information and ideas that played a significant role in the decisions that were taken in the past by leaders as well the citizens that have contributed to the changes realized in the present times. However, this paper describes significant political changes that happened in the history of the US from the years of 1781 that noted adoption of the article of the confederation until President Andrew Jacksons' departure from the Whitehouse in 1837. 

An article of the Confederation that was adopted in 1781 was the first constitution of the US that controlled the territory of the 13 states established at the time. It presented weakness that made administration difficult as it had no provisions that showed how it could collect revenue to run government affairs such as establishing of military and the public service among others. The weakness realized encouraged political debates where federalist that supported the constitution as well as anti-federalist discussed ratification of the constitution. However, in the year 1787 and 1788 eleven out of thirteen states ratified the new constitution of the United States that proved a critical turning point and moment in the history of the US. The constitution was amended and confirmed in the year 1791 that passed the bill of rights that focused on protecting the citizens at the expense of the state as had been realized before the revolutionary war.

In the year 1783, the US Congress signed the peace treaty that formally recognized the thirteen states of the US that made the US identified as a republic that brought to a halt the revolutionary war. It had been after the treaty of Paris was signed in the previous years where Britain officially recognized the independence of the US that was approved on the 30 th of November. It was after the intense American Revolutionary war that saw patriots stood up against the British rule and fought for independence and liberation of the United States territories from the British. 

Slavery was also an important event that had happened in the US and the decade resulted in critical reforms that include the abolishment of slavery among others aspects that changed the slavery aspects. The Rhode Island passed the Emancipation Act in the year 1784 that allowed gradual abolition of slavery and liberating children by noting that all children born after that date are free and also provide a gradual framework that abolished the right of holding slaves. Slavery has contributed significantly to the US history for a long time than its impacts continue to be experienced to date that has made the US one of the unique and dynamic nations in the world. 

In the year 1789 February 4 th , the Electoral College elected the first US president by a unanimous decision that was inaugurated in the year on 30th of April. The Electoral College has continued to impact on the US politics and governance issues for many years to the present where it has continued to impact the political process positively. 

In the year 1800, a new capital city was built after the president initiated the move where they felt it was necessary to have a permanent site where the government could run its affairs and business unlike the previous times where they kept moving on from city to city. A French architect (Pierre Charles L'Enfant) selects Capitol Hill where Congress was permanently built that started in the year 1793 as well as the construction of the presidential residence commonly referred to as the white house. William Thornton who won the bid to construct the building planned by James Hoban that all started in the year 1793. The location of the presidential residence, as well as the location of Congress, is evidence of how well organized the US has been and continues to be in the history of the world in political interest. 

In the year 1792, George Washington is again unanimously elected as the US president who was loved by many shown in the evidence and pressure that he was put in when they tried to endorse him to vie for the third time. An action that vehemently refused but instead in the same year on 19 th he delivered a farewell speech that showed his visions for the US future generations. It has continued to guide the US and the decisions that the country has undergone to the represent day where George Washington visions are still used as a reference for the leadership attributes and visions that different political players in the US have and continues to have to the present. 

John Adams is elected the US president in the year 1797 that only served for one term and was replaced by Thomas Jefferson who served for two terms from the year of 1801 to the year 1809. Adams succeeded President George Washington that established a vision and rules that allowed his followers in the leadership and position of president work towards enhancing the values and visions created by the founding father of the US. 

In the year 1803, the territory of the US was expanded when Napoleon who was the leader of France agreed to extend the territory of Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains when he was in financial trouble an opportunity that the then president Jefferson was actively involved in its implementation. The then president Thomas Jefferson paid 15 million dollars that allowed the US to expand its territory buy over 800,000 square miles. 

In the year 1810, the US conducted its first censures that determined its population at the time including the populations of slaves present at the time. It was a political initiative supported by Congress that was meant to establish statistics and capture data that would help the young country at the time plan and execute decisions according to its population demands and needs at the time. The US as the first country at the time to conduct such an important event and Congress established funds that supported the process that resulted in a successful census event. 

James Madison succeeds President Thomas Jefferson. Madison took a different approach in addressing the tensions that existed between the US and Britain over territorial issues, and he asked Congress to prepare for war as the only alternative and solutions to solve the problem with Britain that was reluctant to initiate the request and demands from the US. It resulted from France interference in the shipping trade of the US that they were prevented from passing through France and some were sunk that hindered business and development of the US at the time. On June 1 st , the year 1982, President Madison declared war after Congress had raised tax that would help fund and support the war. 

In the year 1817, James Monroe became the president of the US. In the year 1820, the second population census was conducted that tried to establish the population's distribution as well as help in the government planning. In 1820 Spain sold part of Florida to the US where Spain had a debt that it had to settle. The debt that Spain had totaled to 5 million dollars and, thus, the country was traded with the US under the leadership of the then president James Monroe that continued the territorial expansion of the US as had been set by his predecessors such as Thomas Jefferson that also contributed to the territorial increase of the US. 

In the year 1821, the treaty of Chicago was signed on 29 th of August that officially gave the United States the state of Michigan that was approved by Lewis Cass that was the territorial governor of the state at the time. In his presence were also representatives from the American tribes that had dominated and occupied most of the territories as the natives and, hence, the inclusion of the natives was relevant in sticking such a deal. 

In the year 1825, John Quincy Adams becomes the 6 th president of the United States that served only for one term paving the way for change in the subsequent election. In the year 1829, Andrew Jackson becomes the president of the US that was the 7 th president of the US. President Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act that allowed the use of military force when voluntary movement requests were not adhered to by Indians. It was after legislations were passed had legalized occupancy of the former territory by immigrants that contribute and show the US as part of the rich country made up of immigrants that have continued to the present where historians, as well as the political scientist, continue to describe the US as a country of immigrants. 

In the year 1832 on 1 st May there was a short war (The Black Hawk war) that lasted for about three months occurred where citizens of the US and different native tribes of America fought because of land that the natives wanted back after the government had made a treaty that allowed them to take the land. On 15 th June the year 1936, Arkansans became the 25 th state of the US. It was a slaveholding state rich in agricultural land and agricultural products that were initially occupied by the Bluff Dwellers. In the year 1837, Martin Van Buren became the 8 th president of the US replacing president Andrew Jackson 

In conclusion, the brief history of the US from 1781 to 1837 show how political aspects were impacted and influenced at the time as well as the key players that determined the different political processes that occurred at the time such as treaties, war, and constitutional changes and reforms. It also notes how the territorial integrity and expansion of the US continued at the time that enables the audience and interested parties understand how the US had shaped and conducted itself in the past. Other aspects of history that touch on the economic as well as social concerns was equally impacted by the political process described and presented above because the elements that determine political process also affect other issues in the society.
