Positivism is the state of being very certain about something and has the aspect of having scientifically proof about that existence. In some case, it can relate to the certain beliefs that people have about something. A good example is a belief that Christians have about the existence of God. Such people believe that the world could not exist without His presence. Positivism focuses on how international relations could be strengthened in the world (Puchala, 2013). This is based on the fact that positivism should be widely accepted. With the increased case of globalization, positivism helps to connect different people with different cultural backgrounds. It relates to the beliefs that people in the world shares.

It is important to note that positivism is similar to social science in various ways. First, social science is the study of human society and its relationship. In most cases, people believe that they need to work together for society to develop (Ayer, 2016). In the modern world, the international relationship tends to analyze the different concepts of social science and how it relates to positivism. This is due to the fact that globalization has resulted in the world to appear like a global village. Since social science focuses on how human society functions, it ensures the international body formulates policies that cut across cultural diversity (Puchala, 2013).

Social science also relates to how the universe operates. In that case, there must be scientific proofs for people to believe about such issues. One of the examples is the case of gravity. It is scientifically proven that gravity exists to create a balance of the universe. As such, it connects with the term of positivism as people are certain about it. It is unlikely to find a person who does not believe about the issue of gravity. The issue of gravity is an international concern as it relates to the world in general (Puchala, 2013). The argument made by post-positivism in the sense that there must be no single doubt about such subjects. For example, in the case of gravity, post-positivism focus on the knowledge that the term has existed since it was proven. Based on that, international relations are strengthened better by the concepts of positivism and social science.
