The progressive era feminists played an integral part in fostering development and acquisition of women’s rights. Women had been undermined in the society since they were not allowed to disagree with opinions from men or expose much of their skin. Besides, women were vulnerable and subjected to poor work settings with extended work hours. Women suffrage left them with the option of challenging the deeply rooted culture concerning their role as women and family and correcting the failings of the society. Progressive era feminists achieved their goal through organized activities like developing of networks among themselves and developing of organizational talents that provided them with an opportunity to share ideas and opinions regarding their position in the society. Women became leaders in their organized activities hence wanted to end women suffrage, stop political corruption, and increase the interventions of the government in protecting the people (Jason, Strickland & McMillen, 2014). Progressive era feminists strived to provide more opportunities and enhance gender equality. This forced women to call for unity and overcome the male-dominated society where they were denied opportunities to succeed in life.
