Institutions and companies are required to have the required infrastructure and mechanisms to enable them to achieve their immediate and short-term goals. Human resource is significant when it comes to the implementation of projects as it provides the expertise, labor and the skills needed. In the case of TriHealth, the role of human resources is quite evident. The TriHealth organization manages the responsibilities and the roles of similar hospitals and health facilities. As the TriHealth organization grew, they needed to define responsibilities and roles for the various projects they had to ensure all the parties involved were satisfied. This paper will look at the common roles of an HR project, the various function of these roles, the consequence of sharing responsibilities, long and short-term effects on the TriHealth company and finally propose a new role by look analyzing the need for an additional role.
Common roles in a human resource project
Many organizations use projects to achieve their goals by successfully using implementing the strategies they have. It is very important to recognize the common roles during the implementation of the human resource project. In human resource projects, there is usually the managerial, executive and the associate level (Melnic & Puiu, 2011). In both of these levels of human resource project, the common roles include the project manager, subject matter manager, team members and the sponsors.

Each of these common roles in the project has its unique functions that are vital to the overall success of the project. For example, the sponsors refer to the institution or an individual that majorly provide the necessary resources to drive the project. Bearing in mind the role the sponsor play, it therefore understandable why they are much concerned about the success of the project. Also, the sponsor can have additional tasks such as play supportive or active roles in the project. Additionally, the project manager is in charge of execution, planning and concluding the project (Bezak & Nahod, 2011). Most of their roles revolve around scheduling, and that is why they are required to be flexible as it needs from them to define the time which the goals of the project will be achieved. Another important role of the project manager is to make sure that the resources needed for the project are available and that they are properly utilized.
However, for the project manager to be successful, they must have a competent team. If the hi or her team member is competent, they will ensure that the direction they are given by their project manager is met within the stipulated timeline (Melnic & Puiu, 2011). In the case where the core team members are incompetent, all expectations of the sponsor and the plans made by the project manager will fail to materialize. Hence for the project to be successful, factors such as competence, availability, and preparedness of the core team members must be fully taken care of. At the same time, there are projects which require specific needs, and consequently, they need to be attended to using specialized skills. In this case, an expert in the particular subject matter who has attained all the necessary competencies to take care of the temporally wants or needs of a project is perfect in such situations.
Roles at TriHealth that result in shared responsibilities and why they fit
For TriHealth organization, it is necessary to redefine some of the roles to make sure that the project will be successful. For this organization’s project to be successful, it is important that each member that take part in the project not to be overwhelmed by the various roles they are given. Also, their competencies and skills should be matched with the roles they are given. At TriHealth organization, project executive sponsor is one of the roles that need to be reorganized.
The project executive sponsor role is to make sure that the success of a project is realized at an organizational level by providing the required resources. The reason why the role of the project executive sponsor will be shared is that they leave and give the project manager the role of budgeting (Eskerod & Vaagaasar, 2014). The project executive sponsor role will end at the provision of resources so that the project manager can take care of planning and scheduling all the mandates he or she is given. The project manager will also have a chance to put in place a direction plan by using the communication skills, leadership skills, and the intelligence that he or she has. Most importantly see to it that the project is properly implemented. In this organization, another role that needs to be reorganized is the one involving the core team members. Core team members are essential for the project manager to be successful. In cases where there is a requirement of specific skills, the role of core team members will be shared with the subject matter experts. The reason for choosing these two roles is because their reorganization will see to it that the goals of the projects are realized within the allocated time.
Suggested long-term and short-term effects on the company when roles are being shared
It is a fact that sharing of roles will have a substantial effect when it comes to the implementation of the project. The benefit of sharing roles is that the organizational barriers that usually interfere with a project are always dealt with (Levitt, 2013). Additionally, sharing ensures that efforts towards the project are unified to make sure that the goals of the project are fully met. To ensure that this is realized, the company need to have good leadership. The long-term and short terms effects are caused by how the leaders will share various roles among them. The long-term effects of this approach on the company will be that there will be more flexibility throughout the project. Leaders, however, need to make sure they communicate effectively with their employees.
Need for additional role, proposed role, and its proposed impact
TriHealth seems to have a stable project team. They have their leaders, manager, team members, sponsors and their performance improvement consultants. All of these roles are important and crucial to the success of the project. There is one role that I see that would add value. This role is that of a Business Analyst. Business Analyst help provides the planning materials that the project team needs to increase team collaboration and productivity (Crawford, 2014). Business Analyst also defines the needs of the project as well as makes a recommendation for solutions that will improve the organization overall. They ensure project goals are attained and attainable and that goals are set in place to help boost performance. Projects allow organizations to be set up for success. Projects are also made to help align organizational goals. It is very important that each project has the right amount of roles and that they are identified. Shared responsibilities are one way to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. TriHealth took all the necessary steps to make sure that they had a team that would lead them to success.

Organizations use projects to achieve various objectives they have. Organizations which are large such as TriHealth need to make sure that they have competitive and competent human resource. In the case of TriHealth, it was vital for the organization to implement a human resource project if it was to enhance competitiveness and service delivery. Their project shared some roles among the employees and defined leadership in its organization hierarchy. However, I think the role of a Business Analyst should be added to ensure more success of the project. References
