Question one
Project management is critical to any project in any field. Project management instills leadership to a project team. Without leadership, the team cannot work uniformly and effectively. A project without a term leader is like a vehicle that has no driver. With no leadership, the project is likely to fail. Also, project management ensures that there is a proper plan for achieving the project objectives. Without appropriate project management, the team may lack focus, objectives as well as a proper strategy to achieve the goals. Additionally, project management brings about quality control, align project goals with strategies and also manage potential risks during the project process ( Meredith & Mantel, 2011). For project management under the supply chain, there are critical elements that must be met. The first is a strategic goal that is aligned with operation strategies. Also, risk management and quality control are crucial. Lastly, a good communication strategy is also essential.
Question two
A critical element for project success is the stakeholders' buy-in and feedback. The stakeholders must get appropriate feedback for them to buy-in the project idea or accept it upon its termination. The stakeholders, in this case, are those who are directly or indirectly affected by the project outcome. Communication is critical in ensuring stakeholders' buy-in and feedback. Constant communication between the project management team and stakeholders ensure that stakeholders get the updates concerning the project's positive and negative progress. The project team must also ensure that they identify the influential stakeholders and convince them on the progress and ideas behind the project ( Kerzner, 2017). Further, they should strive to achieve and uphold stakeholders’ loyalty by understanding their views and expectations and including them in the project operations to ensure that they are met. This is critical in ensuring that the stakeholders understand the project ideas and result and buy-in the project.
