Providence House for Pregnant Women and Children in Brooklyn - New York, is a center for homeless women and children. The shelter provides women and children with food, housing, security, and education to help them transition and get independence in the community. Also, Providence House helps its beneficiaries secure employment after taking them through training and obtaining medical services and a permanent place to live with pregnant women benefiting from clinical services available. Providence House for Pregnant Women and Children is a haven for the less privileged from the information shared. Its existence is a gem in a society full of unfortunate cases that women and children face.

After attending the shelter, the thought, beliefs, and feelings towards the center strengthened since they proved to be a center focused on helping the less fortunate in the community. The staff is highly professional, especially those spearheading the training program and the nurses that attend the pregnant women. The clinical department welcomes volunteer services from nursing students and professionals. Observing and attending to pregnant women helped sharpen nursing skills, put classwork into practice, and apply it in real-life situations.

Investigating health concerns before admission to the facility is a priority. Staff at the shelter immediately assess the individuals' vaccinations, physicals, and nutrition. Mental cases meet specialized physicians. Those lacking current vaccinations are vaccinated to prevent infections within the shelter since housing in the facility takes up to eight months, depending on the need.

The well-being of mothers and children is a vital public health objective for the United States, focusing on Healthy People 2020. The well-being of the two categories determines the country's future since it can predict health challenges for the community and the health care system. Besides, pregnancy can help identify existing health risks in pregnant mothers, making prevention easier (Healthy People, 2020). Thus, the program undertaken by Providence House is in line with the government initiative in health promotion.

From experience gained, it's evident that mothers and children are the most vulnerable in the community facing unspeakable health concerns while holding the key to a healthy future generation and a robust health care system. Therefore, clinicians should be at the forefront in ensuring they prioritize their health and well-being.
