The public health service in the United States has shifted significantly over the years. The performance of the U.S health system is characterized by the poor outcomes and relatively high costs of medical care. These two aspects show that the U.S public health has decline. Although the U.S is known for its highly advanced medical technology, leadership in biomedical research, and having highly qualified medical specialists, it has failed to offer quality care and ensuring access to healthcare system for all Americans. It is evident that most Americans are still facing the challenge of accessing health care and many do not experience optimal quality of the medical care they receive ( Fairchild, Rosner, Colgrove, Bayer & Fried, 2010).
I believe America is facing these challenges because of factors such as poor health behaviors, overdependence on automobiles for travel, which results in lack of fitness ad obesity, teenage pregnancy and violence, poverty, high rates of accidents, lack of focusing on public health and primary care, poor diets, and lack of universal health coverage.

I have witnessed these claims firsthand in my community, Duluth, Georgia. In Duluth, people are facing healthcare challenges such as poor health outcomes and poor quality of medical care they receive. Healthy options are not available, which makes it difficult for the people to live healthy. Implementing certain changes would help to support the community to live healthy thereby addressing the public health concerns affecting the people.
