Quality management system refers to a group of policies, processes, and methods that are needed to plan and execute production, development, and service in a business organization ( Nanda, 2016) . In other words, these are policies put in place by an organization to meet customers’ demands. A quality management system of an organization is primarily centered by providing the best possible goods and services to the customers and consumer ( Nanda, 2016) . In addition to that, it also recognizes all the interested party requirements. These requirements include legal licenses for trading, guidelines of trading, requirements of the customers and consumers and the chosen standards for the management system to properly function. Besides that, it also seeks to confirm whether all employees have received applicable training in the requirements for quality systems. Lastly, a quality management system ensures all sates within an organization are reduced and all the available resources maximized.
On the other hand, business excellence models are mainly put in place to help an organization achieve its goals by becoming world class. Unlike a quality management system that tends to focus on the needs of the customers, business excellence models primarily provide a framework in which an organization can assess and recognize its performances ( McAdam, 2015) . While quality management system tends to recognize all the stakeholders involved in the production of goods and services; business models tend to focus on performance measures, ensuring that a business system works properly and encourages staff to improve on their performances continuously. In a nutshell, business models give an organization a clear vision for the workforce, recognize opportunities and tailor a solution that can maximize performance on the opportunities and establish an improvement culture in the organization that solves potential problems ( McAdam, 2015) .
