Radio broadcasting has been around for a longer duration compared to television. During its duration of existence, there is no doubt that such broadcasting happens to be the most compelling form of news media. Broadcasters are talented enough to keep listeners engaged. They work towards developing a close connection with their virtual audience. Though radio has not pictorial reference, the listeners have the ability to discern what is being talked about and thus they have the ability to construct mental pictures depicting the broadcaster. The purpose of this essay is to offer a perfect example which can be viewed as an intimate form of communication

The most compelling form of radio broadcast story happened to be the falsified alien invasion of 1938 by The War of World . Constantly, this program had been gaining immense popularity with majority of the audience opting to believe in everything that they hear. There are numerous instances of radio broadcasts whereby the broadcaster indicates how they encounter their audience face to face. Robin Lustig, an award winning BBC broadcaster, narrates several incidents such one where he indicates that one of the work mates appears to be unsettled on seeing him since they often tune in to his program while in the shower. This alone is a perfect example of intimate connection.

The War of Worlds managed to compel its audience that the world was under alien invasion. This popular program is perhaps the most convincing form of radio broadcast in ancient history. Numerous numbers of individuals were terrified yet they had not come into contact with the aliens. They believed what they had and did not need any further convincing. For a moment in the course of the broadcast, the radio seemed to have lost signal owing to the events of that moment. This later turned out to be a fallacy and will be remembered as one of the most convincing incidents on radio for years to come.

It is evident from the above illustrations that radio broadcasting has the ability to reach out to a large audience. It also appears that individuals appear more convinced by what they hear on radio. The War of Worlds demonstrates the perfect example of an intimate form of communication. Individuals listening to the program were entirely convinced that there was an alien invasion as implied. This serves as one of the best examples of individuals being convinced via radio broadcasts and will forever remain etched at the back of individuals` minds.
