Developed countries, such as the United States observed when it came to their factors for influencing recruitment and include the presence of enough funds to pay the medical practitioners, presence of enough jobs, how many people are qualified for the job as well as the career opportunities for the spouse as the children's education. (Mbemba et al., 2016). Other factors that influence the recruitments and retention are the environmental working conditions. Some people cannot work in some areas. The social background will greatly influence recruitment, and the incentives provided for the work and professionalism. Another best practice the healthcare can adopt in the recruiting and retaining talented workforce is by making the benefits and reimbursement program much enticing to keep the workers drawn to the organization and stay much longer.

When comparing the preference of the individuals working in the rural and urban area, most people will prefer working in the urban areas. Since there is more job prospect and opportunity, and people can easily shift from one job to another as there are many potential employers found in the urban areas. There are many consideration in which a health workers will look to opt for jobs in the rural and urban areas. Also working in different kind of environment will influence the recruitment and retention of health practitioners by the employers (MacQueen et al., 2017). CEOs of rural areas will target specific types of healthcare practitioners. Urban doctors returning home, foreign doctors looking for a green card, troublemakers who cannot secure jobs in the city, those looking for competitive pay, and the missionary doctor serving a higher purpose (Brown, 2018). The Chief Executive Officers of the health facilities use more creative approaches when it comes to recruiting and retaining providers. The nurses who have lived in rural areas are more familiar with the type of illness that affects that population are more likely to recruited in countryside areas.
