Films are timeless. They are able to remain relevant years after their screening. This is true of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This film attempts to explore the power of love and the pursuit of material success. The film was released in 1961 but it still manages to capture the experiences that individuals go through today. The following questions help to explore the themes that the film addresses further.
In what ways does the film represent love and romantic relationships today?
What role does money play in shaping romantic relationships?
Does the film hurt or promote feminism through its portrayal of Holly as a strong woman who makes her own decisions?
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
What role does the film play in exposing the difficulties that wide age gaps introduce into romantic relationships?
How do socialites find fulfillment and true love despite the stereotypes with which they are associated and the other challenges that they encounter?
How far should one be willing to go in their pursuit of fulfillment?
Which challenges does being wealthy introduce into one’s pursuit of love and happiness?
What are the impacts of personal tragedies on one’s outlook on life?
How does the film shed light on the state of the moral health of society?
How does a young and naïve woman examine her life soberly without letting such issues as material wealth cloud her judgment?
The questions above will help to further explore the issues and conflicts that the film raises. These issues matter to me because I find them to be relevant and important. For instance, on the issue of material wealth, I find that many people turn their back on love as they set their sight on material wealth. I think that the issues should matter to others because they affect our lives. While most of the questions can be answered through simple reflection, I find that some of the questions would benefit from research. The first question which examines the relationship between the film and modern life requires some research. The research is needed to compare the state of the world today and the issues raised in the film. The other question that calls for research is the third one which examines feminism. To answer this question, one needs to research on feminism and the factors that affect it.
The film raises important questions. However, I chose to explore the topic of feminism and the efforts of women to find fulfillment. As part of my exploration of this topic, I will focus on questions 3, 5 and 10. These questions focus on the struggles of women and their attempts to find meaning. These questions will take different paths. For example, in response to the third question, it can be argued that vocal and courageous women hurt feminism. It can also be said that such women as Holly who are confident and in charge of their own lives help to drive the feminist movement. On the issue of feminism, I will argue that Holly’s actions give fuel to the feminist movement. This argument is important because it recognizes the need for women to be confident and pursue what their hearts desire. This argument is likely to be challenged. One might argue that Holly’s actions are overly bold and outrageous. These actions hurt the feminist movement. Insights from colleagues and literature on feminism will constitute the primary sources of information.
