Reflection on the Ethical Issues for Youth Empowerment Programs

Ethical issues are common in youth empowerment programs and influence the development and actualization of the empowerment programs. Ethical issues among the youth lie around issues such as teamwork, integrity, honesty, responsibility, and honesty. Ethical issues can also arise due to the physical and psychological exploitation of the youth. Due to the negligence of the youth and failure to be involved in political projects the youth in the society can be easily exploited by other institutions which claim to create and enhance empowerment but have hidden motives. Such programs involve training and seminars which incite the youth to engage in violent behavior in demands for recognition and allocation of resources and leadership position. 

Potential ethical issues to consider that may arise in the development and implementation of the empowerment programs can include discrimination by gender, race, sexuality, disability, preexisting health conditions, and ethnicity. The development of youth empowerment programs can impact communities in diverse perspectives such as age. Age may be specified to quality those who benefit in youth programs restricting others from other the benefits of such programs.

Youth programs are also gender-sensitive where they may tend to favor either women or men which will give rise to ethical issues such as favoritism on sexuality basis. Many of the youth programs involve allocation of finances and resource allocation which can raise ethical issues of transparency and equality in distribution and achievement of the set targets. Ethical issues may arise in politics due to an inclination of the programs towards certain political arenas excluding other youths with different political affiliations. 

Implementation of programs and formulated policies can raise ethical issues if the plans are not in line with religious beliefs and practices. Others can be contrary to ethnic and cultural expectations. Ethical issues may arise in educational matters where programs formulated require specific skills and knowledge cutting out others who qualify as youths but lack the required education. Geographically, youth programs can be discriminating by implementing programs in favorable geographic regions and neglecting other less desirable geographical areas.
