Supply Chain Management

The exponential growth of the retail market has led to increased demand in supply chain management, such as in the retail clothing sector. Primarily, supply chain management guides the movement of goods and raw materials. Some of the challenges affecting supply chain management in retail clothing are the high costs of transport, insecurity and limited organizational capabilities in the financial aspect. The problems could be solved by organizing or bulk transfers of the goods and raw materials to save on costs. Insecurity could be addressed by the countries where the menace is evident (Fernie& Sparks, 2014).

Inventory Management

Technology has been an elemental force in influencing the development and complexity of inventory management in the retail clothing industry. Technologically outdated companies have had an uphill task in managing the current clothing inventory (Shen, Chan, Chow, & Barletta, 2016). Burgeoning consumer demand has also led to the introduction of latest forms of inventory management due to the increase in the stock of fashion. The flexibility of the clothing stores in adjusting to the change in demand has led to their effectiveness in managing their inventory (Chan, Choi, & Ho, 2016).

Master Scheduling

A master production schedule (MPS) in the retail clothing sector has to be developed to identify the specific commodities to be produced. MPS is usually linked to the manufacturing in a retail clothing company. The production is then matched with the customers' demands. The retail clothing sector needs to consider master schedule to determine the left resources to take care of rising customer demand after the other customers' demands have been satisfied (Murray, 2018).

Aggregate Planning

Futurism in planning is a constructive thing for a retail clothing company to undertake. Owing to the importance of planning, business analysts have developed aggregate planning. Planning forecasts the production of the clothing store in advance of 6-18 months. The planning helps such a store to set targets that are realistic. Furthermore, aggregate planning enables a retail clothing store to keep track of the customers' demands and get ready in case of increasing customer demand (Matsoma & Ambe, 2017).
