How SCM technology requirements are the same and different.
The chain management supply tools and software provides efficient solutions for organizations in their supply departments. Supply chain management system employed manufactures, retail and health sectors have some similarities in the functions performed by the system. In both cases, the system increases the speed of processing data, and in a nutshell, it improves the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of logistics in the supply chain (Simchi & Kaminsky2012).The requirements of SCM technology differ in the nature and size of the business of the organization.
In healthcare, a supply chain is critical and is made up of employees, e.g., doctors, patients, suppliers, companies offering insurance, government health ministry. FID is a supply chain software used in hospitals to handle inventory. It maintains accuracy, monitor, and control all stages of the supply chain. There is also software known as Fishbowl inventory which is widely used by retailers to manage their inventory. It contains features like barcode registration, accounting packages, management of assets and raw materials. It automates invoicing, ordering and purchasing (In Stadtler, Kilger & In Meyr, 2015).

Software tools and how they will support the business and its specific aspects.
Walton's Department
This store needs supply chain management software, such as Visual retail plus which monitors with accuracy and maintain inventory, and procurement process(In Stadtler, Kilger &In Meryr,2015).This system will ensure customers satisfaction moreover it will give the store a competitive advantage, speed delivery of goods to customers, improve productivity and profits. The system will speed up the process in the supply chain such as, invoicing, ordering, and procurement.
Walton’s stores should also invest in distribution technology such as Traverse ERP which monitor and track movements of goods and update the customer on when they will receive products which they ordered (Gupta, 2013).It ensures that the inventory is accurate and well organized. Distribution software will facilitate the store to penetrate the market, acquire new clients, retaining current clients and serving the clients better through the timely and efficient delivery of goods. Additionally, it will increase the visibility of the supply chain, reduce production and operation costs and widen the profit margins.
SBS Seating
SBS seating manufactures can invest on a computer Aided manufacturing software such as NX CAM. This software will help the production manager to design leather seats that meet the customers' specifications. It enables simulation of how end products will look like once completed therefore gives customer chance to give their opinions and suggests changes. Using NX CAM will promote creativity in designing products that are of high quality and unique (Raphael & Smith2013).As a result, this will give the company competitive advantage and penetrate the market. Additionally; it speeds up the production process, minimizes operation and production cost and expands profit margins.
The company can also use flexible manufacturing systems (FMS).In this system, the machines are operated and controlled by computer software to make the products which in this case are leather seats. It will enable the company to produce high-quality leather seats at low production cost since the machine has higher efficiency and speed.(Storr & Jarvis,2012).
MLD Hospital
There has been an increase in legal oversight, and since health sector is highly regulated, it is necessary for MLD hospital to use Legal compliance software. Many hospitals have had their license withdrawn and the hospitals closed due to a breach of regulations and laws. The software will ensure that all process and activities that the hospital engages in meet all statutory, legal requirements and regulations. Using the software will reduce the chances of breaching the set regulations which may attract fines and even closure of the hospital. It also ensures that patients, governments, medical practitioners, sponsors and other stakeholders' expectations are met.
Electronic Medical recording system
MLD should use electronic medical record system since it provides a seamless flow of information and with updated, accurate information on patients; doctors can make the best decision. It also speeds up the process of serving patients as there is no need of carrying books from consultation room to Lab and pharmacy (In Moon & In Galea,2016).Consequently, it will enable MLD hospital to provide efficient, cost-effective and high-quality services to patients
Nonsoftware technology that might be useful to each industry and how the technology will help optimize costs and efficiencies.
Computer-aided design (CAD)
The computer-aided design consists of special-purpose hardware and both software. SBS Seating can be used in the production department to simulate designs of various leather products without building a physical prototype. Using this software is easy and fast since most tasks are automated (Raphael & Smith2013).It improves accuracy and importantly it easy to correct errors in addition to this; it will enhance the quality of leather seats and customers satisfaction.
Walton Department stores
Walton can use video surveillance, in department stores to reduce shoplifting. The management can use the CCTV to monitors how the employees work to ensure that they do not smuggle good. It can also be used to monitor how customers do shopping to improve on the arrangement and positioning of products.
Patient Image wands
MLD hospital can use Patient image wands diagnose and monitor body functions of the patients (In Moon & In Galea, 2016). It is efficient and effective in diagnosing diseases thus it will improve the quality of medical care provided to patients.
