I started my RN-BSN program in January 2019, undertaking one course at a time. I took my classes each start date with ambition not to lag and meet coursework requirements. I intended to improve my life, personal and professional growth, meet job requirements, and academically ready if promotion opportunity becomes available.
Before the RN-BSN Program
RN-BSN program improved my personal growth and professional growth. Part of my nursing professional is to meet my goals, such as offering quality delivery to patients, collaborating relation with my workmates to achieve the shared vision, and improving mutual trust and respect for work accountability. For instance, the RN-BSN program developed my personal growth as I learned different theories behind things I have been doing as an RN practitioner. Second, I realized that the program allows me to improve my professional growth since education is a necessity for career advancement and job promotion ( Perfetto, 2019, p. 19 ).

Lifelong Learning
RN-BSN program had a positive impact on my professional and personal growth. First, despite valuing my job and a need to make more money, it was stressful to handle work pressure. Everyone's desire to further study is for personal growth, and I aimed to pursue a BSN degree for career qualifications and promotion purposes. For instance, there are opportunities at the place of my work that require practitioners to grab for their career growth, but it depends on the level of education one have to meet minimum requirement such as having BSN degree.
For example, I had to acquire a BSN degree to be able to manage my work and meet work demand as the management prerequisite. The program introduced me to the different theoretical frameworks and improved my work ethics with a qualitative and quantitative analysis work approach ( Chaffin & Jacobson, 2017, p. 435 ). The second example is that taking the BSN program helped me to enhance my practical hands-on and technical skills that are needed by hospitals. Despite having technical and practical skills, the program introduced me to updated skills and workforce that positively impacted my attitudes during the decision-making process. I believe my BSN certification will put me in a better position to get one and get promoted to meet personal career growth.
Novice to Expert
Having been out of school for quite long, but working as an RN practitioner, I realized that much has changed in the healthcare sector. Through further education, I would be able to deliver quality service, improve my personal and professional growth. The only way I would become an expert with updated nursing skills was by joining the RN-BSN program. My interest was to ensure that I meet career goals and shared vision as well as improve my relationship with my workmate in a professional way. My action was to join the RN-BSN program to offer quality delivery to patients, collaborating relations with my workmates to meet the shared vision, and improving mutual trust and respect for work accountability. Working in an emergency department requires patience, a high level of attention for administering medications and the welfare of patients, and a clear understanding of work ethics ( Cole & Arias, 2019, p. 13 ). Thus, my focus was to uphold a high level of work ethics and ensure patients are not vulnerable to medical mistakes.
For instance, I had challenges to handle patients when emergency cases are many, but the RN-BSN program improved my work ethics and resilience. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, I learned that some cases under emergency require constructive models and theory to handle it effectively. Second, teamwork help in solving issues at hand easily, an aspect that I have learned through the program and believe will help me to achieve a shared vision at the place of my work.
Synthesis of Role Transition to Professional Nursing
Transitioning to professional nursing help in quality service delivery, meet the shared vision, improving personal and professional growth, and open opportunities for medical practitioners ( Peltzer, APRN-CNS & Shen, 2017, p. 12 ). Professional nursing involves the use of the theoretical framework and quantitative analysis that solve medical problems effectively and efficiently. RN-BSN program is designed to transition and synthesize medical nursing practitioners to professional nursing with the ability to deliver quality service and meet healthcare demand.
For instance, the healthcare sector exhibits shortages of nurses, and undertaking the RN-BSN program will help in voiding such a gap and improve quality service delivery in healthcare sectors. Second, personal nursing philosophy changes when practitioners are under the RN-BSN program since the desire to work grows, and enhanced quality service delivery exhibited.
Evaluation
An area that worked for me doing the RN-BSN program was a theoretical framework and quantitative analysis. However, the program needs improvement in terms of flexibility and simplification as it caters to practitioners of different ages. One aspect that should be changed is based on age cluster, where those older practitioners should have a special program that works on their mental improvement and attention procurement. However, I would recommend the program to others as I believe it will positively impact their lives the same way I was influenced.
