The role of racism in the Tuskegee experiment can be seen in the way the African American men were intrigued to be part of this study. They were looking for treatment for syphilis or what they termed as bad blood. It helps us to understand how the blacks were manipulated with the use of free hot meals whenever they were examined and freely treated in cases of minor sicknesses. The participants in the experiment were assured of medical care and insurance for their people that remained, as well as burial compensation (Paul & Brookes, 2015) . Thus, the event highlighted the cruel treatment that African Americans underwent in the medical field, of being involved in the unethical experiment. People from whatever race should be aware of their rights, and they should not be misused just because they are poor, illiterate or uninformed in any way. They had a right to receive medical care, without making reference to their promiscuity and susceptibility to catching syphilis.
The role of racism in the "Scottsboro Boys" case is to help us understand that a whole system can be structured in a manner that it favors a specific segment of the society. Racism is a common phenomenon in the legal system of America. This is fundamental to understand the limitations in the legal systems who have been tasked with the responsibility of protecting the minority, not oppressing them. The Scottsboro Boys were wrongly accused that they had raped white ladies, and for that, they were locked in without even the opportunity to be visited by relatives (Bellamy, 2014). This is an alert that racism could be traced in other systems of the government if it could be found in the legal system.

We learn that as far as racism began in the United States during the colonial times, the vice has extended even to the present times. As much as it can be traced to US history, it still insists on many systems or streams of the government today (Bellamy, 2014). Whenever the black people feel that their rights are being infringed, they should voice this out and advocate for equality. For example, there have been recent occasions in which the judges passed a wrongful judgment to favor the white. Sometimes, the blacks face excessive charges compared to their white counterparts that have committed a similar offense. This is unethical and should not be encouraged.
