A well and timely scheduling have been associated with the provision of quality care following a study conducted in England. In the past, there were more cases related to no-show in regards to the appointment since the waiting time was longer than usual (Committee on Optimizing Scheduling in Health Care et al., 2015). Therefore, most of the patients were left unsatisfied with the services and hence only a few were returning for check-ups and follow-up care.
Electronic scheduling is now taking over, where a computer-automated tool is designed to simplify the complex process of patients scheduling as well as record handling. Another added advantage to the electronic way of scheduling and record-keeping are the links to relevant information or hospital alerts which would reach the patients at the comfort of their homes at no cost at all (Hall, & Partyka, 2019). It is also an advantage to the health facility since they will only need to upload the required information on their site where it can reach their patients at once without the need of sending personal messages which would also be costly.
