I took the generalized anxiety screen with the aim being towards examining whether I am suffering from an anxiety disorder. From the results gathered, it was clear that I suffer from generalized anxiety, as suggested based on the answers I gave as part of the screen. The one thing that I learned about myself from the screen was the fact that I find myself worrying too much about life events regardless of the fact that I do not have a substantive reason to worry. The questions focused on the level of worry for the last 6 months from where I took note of the fact that I was experiencing significant challenges in trying to control my worry. I learned that the overall levels of worry were affecting my everyday life in a significant way, as it has become notably hard for me to undertake my regular daily activities.
Another key aspect that I was able to learn about myself was the fact that although I considered myself as being in control of my worries, this was not the case considering that most of the time I find myself not being in control of my worry. Personally, I know two of my friends that may need to engage in this screening as a way of ensuring that they understand the extent to which they suffer from anxiety disorders. For both of my friends, it is clear that they constantly experience feelings of being worried, nervous, and stressed, especially from issues to do with school. That serves as a reason that would push me towards sharing the screen with them, as well as, encouraging them to take the screen with the intention being towards identifying the extent of their anxiety disorders. I believe that the screen will be of great value towards determining whether both of my friends should go for further evaluation for purposes of mental health issues.
