Security Strategies when Preparing a Facility for an Event

In the modern-day, nothing brings people together, like sports and entertainment. These people are referred to as fans and are different, behaviour, and morals. For this reason, it is prudent to come up with a good security system to ensure safety for both the sportsmen and the fans. Several steps can be adopted to ensure the safety of an event, and they include security planning, training of security staffs and use of technology. 

Security Planning 

The best way to curb any threat of insecurity is to foresee before it happens. Most cases that arise are due to a slight error that could be easily solved, such as poor lighting from broken or missing bulbs, slow access control, and weak locks among many others. Besides, most cases also occur outside the facility, such as the parking lot or the surrounding streets where the results could be fatal can be avoided if there is adequate planning (Curran & Ross, 2019). It is also necessary to expect the unexpected such as a terrorist attack that could wipe out a mass of gathering thus the need for proactiveness at all times always looking for any loopholes to sea and this can be attained if there is proper planning. 

Training of the security staff 

The most efficient way to obtain a good security team is to hire trained and licensed security personnel. In essence, this is to ensure they each can successfully and professionally accomplish their tasks. However, the security staffs need to retrain to be familiarized with the rules and regulation of the event (Curran & Ross, 2019). Retraining would ensure the security staffs are familiar with where the event is being hosted, and therefore, they would be efficient when dispatching their duties. 

Technology 

The training of the security team and also staff should be complemented with technologized security mechanisms. Biometric recognition systems, such as fingerprint and retina scanning, have been frequently deployed (Curran & Ross, 2019). Also, the Closed-Circuit Television system (CCTV) can be used to boost the security of the event. Development in this sector is still ongoing with new technologies such as the scent-based defensive mechanism.
