Natural selection with the goal of survival contributes to evolution just as sexual selection does via the choice of mates. Courtship tools serve as among the most amazing and baffling capabilities of the human mind, which have evolved to facilitate in attracting as well as entertaining sexual partners. By shifting from view of evolution from a survival perspective to one centered on courtship, it becomes possible to comprehend the various mysteries associated with the mind. In this case, it can be argued that sexual selection played a role in human mind’s development.

Concerning the development of the human mind, the natural selection principle reveals that the nervous system is responsible for regulating a large number of the prevailing bodily functions. It also affects progressive advancement of diverse structures of the body and qualities of the mind indirectly. Different genders seem to have different preferences for various things. For example, one sex or the other has acquired traits, such as size and strength of the body, perseverance, aggression, courage, bright colors, different kinds of weapons, and ornamental appendages indirectly.
