Components of Department of Justice
This department is composed of 40 component organizations including federal bureau of prisons, the United States marshals, the federal bureau of investigation, and drug enforcement administration (Kaeble et al., 2015). Office on Violence against Women
The office on violence against women formulated about 19 programs to assist victims of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking (Kaeble et al., 2015). Through the programs, the victims are provided with protections and services they require which can enable them to live a healthy life. The program also accommodates the community and they have the right to hold offenders accountable for their violence (Justice, 2012). Funding of these services are provided by the tribal, local and state government, community-based organization, courts, non-profit organization, the institution of higher education, secondary schools, state and tribal coalition. The entities come together to ensure that they form a more effective response to violence against women. Actives, which these entities are involved, are diverse and they include crisis intervention, direct service, and legal assistance to victims, transitional housing, and court improvements (Lipsky et al., 2018).
Community Oriented Policing Services Office (COPS)
Grants are provided by the Community Oriented Policing Services Office to facilitate enforcement organizations to employ more community policing officers. Additionally, thee grants are provided to ensure that these agencies can acquire new technologies and equipment (Kaeble et al., 2015). The grants ensure that the organizations are in the position to employ civilians for the administrative task. Solving crime requires innovative approaches and through the grants, agencies are able to achieve that. The office of response center provides more information on grants, programs and application assistance to the COPS (Justice, 2012).
