Introduction 

The inspector general heads Department of Justice (DOJ) and the office is mandated with investigating programs and employees. There are large numbers of employees reporting to the inspector general. The office of the inspector general ensures that investigation is conducted with regards to audit, inspections review of United States departments of justice programs and personnel to detect fraud, waste misconduct, and abuse. Through this process, the office will be in apposition to promote integrity, efficiency, economy, and effectiveness of justice operations. The office of inspector general of the United States ensures that there is administrative misconduct within the government offices. 

The mission of the Department of Justice (DOJ) 

This department is in charge of enforcing the law and use the constitution to defend the interest of the United States of America. Additionally, department of justice ensures that the public is safe against foreign and domestic threats (Lipsky et al., 2018). Other functions of DOJ are to facilitate federal leadership in controlling and preventing crime. Similarly, DOJ ensures that those who are found guilty of unlawful are subjected to just punishment. Finally, DOJ ensures that there is a fair and impartial administration of justice for all citizens of the United States (Justice, 2012).

Components of Department of Justice 

This department is composed of 40 component organizations including federal bureau of prisons, the United States marshals, the federal bureau of investigation, and drug enforcement administration (Kaeble et al., 2015). The attorney general who is also chief enforcement officer of the federal government heads Department of Justice. The attorney general who also advises the president represents legal matters in the United States. Additionally, the attorney general also advice executive department of the government on the legal matter. DOJ uses a budget of approximately $25 billion, which makes it the largest law office and the chief organ in enforcing federal laws (Lipsky et al., 2018). 

Office of Justice Programs 

Office of the justice programs provides federal financial assistance to agencies, local governments, experts, scholars, and state. Several program bureau and departments award formula grants to states agencies, which gain sub-grant funds to local governments and units of states (Lipsky et al., 2018). The announcement of discretional grants funds is done through the federal register or program solicitation, which can also be located through bureau and OJP websites (Justice, 2012). 

Office on Violence against Women 

The office on violence against women formulated about 19 programs to assist victims of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking (Kaeble et al., 2015). Through the programs, the victims are provided with protections and services they require which can enable them to live a healthy life. The program also accommodates the community and they have the right to hold offenders accountable for their violence (Justice, 2012). Funding of these services are provided by the tribal, local and state government, community-based organization, courts, non-profit organization, the institution of higher education, secondary schools, state and tribal coalition. The entities come together to ensure that they form a more effective response to violence against women. Actives, which these entities are involved, are diverse and they include crisis intervention, direct service, and legal assistance to victims, transitional housing, and court improvements (Lipsky et al., 2018). 

Community Oriented Policing Services Office (COPS) 

Grants are provided by the Community Oriented Policing Services Office to facilitate enforcement organizations to employ more community policing officers. Additionally, thee grants are provided to ensure that these agencies can acquire new technologies and equipment (Kaeble et al., 2015). The grants ensure that the organizations are in the position to employ civilians for the administrative task. Solving crime requires innovative approaches and through the grants, agencies are able to achieve that. The office of response center provides more information on grants, programs and application assistance to the COPS (Justice, 2012).
