People's thoughts about gender orientation and gender harassment have significantly changed over time. A good number of Americans now believes that sexual orientation is something individuals' are born with. In that case, changing such people is always near to impossible.
No clear explanation on how or why American public opinion changed between 1960 and 1988. According to William G. Mayor (2007), 9% of people thought that the changing altitude on the issue of gays and lesbianism was as a result of written materials which led to a moral breakdown. During the 1970s and 1980s, seven out of 10 Americans felt sexual orientation was wrong. However, during this page, Americans attitude towards homosexuality had started changing. American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association in 1973 and 1975 respectively declared homosexuality as normal human behavior. In 2005, American Supreme Court ruled by 5-t0-4 votes that the constitution guarantees a right to same-sex marriage ( Siker, 2007 ). Both proponents and opponents arose. For instance, there was a brief filing by 370 small and large businesses who were in support of gay marriage. There were also Protestants who demonstrated on the sidewalk outside the Court few days the ruling ( Lamanna, Riedmann & Stewart, 2018 ).

I think that the judge was right when he pronounced that there was no need to deny them their sexual liberty. This change shows that American society was no longer blind on issues that went around them. Their mentality and attitude towards homosexuality and the entire overview of the topic welcomed people with sexual orientation to the community. Before the law was passed, they were seen as outcasts and not normal. I have personally experienced such people, and I noticed that they have no control over their nature. They were born sexually oriented, and it is difficult to change them.
Though sexual harassment is common in women, it can also happen to men. Sexual harassment describes a behavior women have been facing for ages. There was sexual harassment in workplaces. Slavery, as well as industrial revolution, contributed to work-based sexual harassment.
Sexual harassment was not recognized as a social problem until the 1980s. Women had been used to situations of sexual harassment, and very few were concerned about the issue. There were treatments that women in the current world cannot put up with. Over the years, women realized they were being discriminated. Today, sexual harassment is one of the biggest problem facing the society. A week rarely goes without news that reminds us of the issue. Sexual harassment has been observed in government agencies, schools, and other world corporations. Despite increased awareness, a significant number of women are still not on their rights. I have observed cases of sexual harassments, especially in offices and workplaces. The reason why sexual harassment is still an issue is that the society has not deemed it as a severe problem ( Morewitz, 2006 ).
The issue of homosexuality is a more than half solved. People are aware, and the society has already managed to cope with the issue. On the other hand, the issue of sexual harassment is still a social problem. While people are dramatically aware of sexual harassment compared to few decided down the line, the issue is still prevalent.
