The Canadian film industry has come under sharp criticism from the society in the recent past. The critiques' key argument is that the art of promoting propaganda is still a major objective of this industry. They also argue that it does not represent the reality in the society. What most people fail to understand is that the modern requirements of the film industry are different from the traditional society requirements. For instance, the traditional societies were more concerned ethics in art more than anything else in the art. The modern society, however, is concerned with the requirements of the target audience more than the expectations of the society.

In the film Shameless Propaganda, it is interesting to note that the propaganda was designed to match with people’s interests. Grierson would send his agents around the country to collect information regarding the people’ s interests. The information was then used to spread good and bad propaganda. Consequently, this propaganda has shaped the Canadian society ever since. It has become an integral part of the Canadian society.
