Issue and Community choice
Over the years, Marijuana is reported to be the most abused drug in the United States. Nearly half of the Americans have used Marijuana at least once in their lifetime (Wall et al. (2017) . Despite its effect of impairing judgment, Marijuana should be legalized and be explicitly used for medical purposes. Marijuana is known for its therapeutic purposes and very important in the medical profession, especially in pain management. It is also crucial in the management of cancer as is it helps prevent the growth of tumors in the lungs and brain. Studies show that Marijuana has a therapeutic effect, especially to cancer patients attending chemotherapy sessions as it helps in stimulating appetite and relieving nausea.
Formulation of policy
Given that several states in the United States are actively involved in the legalization of commercial Marijuana, several questions need to be addressed to prevent detrimental effects associated with its use ( Szaflarski et al. (2017) . For instance, upon its legalization, how will it be prevented from being easily accessed by adolescents? What implication will it have on the defenseless population? How prepared is the government to handle risk factors associated with marijuana use? Furthermore, the government needs to investigate and establish legislative proposals that favor the protection of the consumers. Like tobacco, the exposure of people, especially children to marijuana smoke, is a matter of great concern, especially people occupying a multiunit housing structure ( Compton et al. (2020) . There are limited sanctioned mechanisms that guide the production of Marijuana. Thus, it becomes difficult to monitor and test and standardize or even determine the potential health effects.

My opinion
The jurisdictions tasked to legalize recreational and commercial Marijuana should devise new production schemes that give guidelines on the production and distribution of Marijuana. Proper regulation of having a positive influence on public health. The government needs to formulate stringent regulatory policies that are primarily focused on preventing the drug's availability to minors. It is the government's responsibility to lead regulatory intervention such as age limitation, taxation, and standardization.
