Would you advise the government of that country to seek reparations for colonial rule?

Kenya, as well as other countries that faced injustices, should seek for reparation from the colonies. The colonies were nowhere near humanity in the countries that either welcomed them willingly or forcedly. The colonies massacred their subject and mostly in Africa and other places such as India. The colonial countries did not sweat much for the bread and butter they are currently enjoying. They stole this wealth from other nations, for instance, India, Kenya and other African nations. They should pay for this to ensure that whoever was hurt or deprived of any justice be restored. If the reparation can restore the injustice this country faced, then it worth giving a try (Bernstein, H. 2010).

Reparation is a law that fights for those who were at a point injured or their properties damage. The law requires the wrongdoing party to readdress the damages they caused to their victims. According to this law, the victims of any international crime or injustice should seek for effective claim and justice they were denied by those who oppressed them. The victim under this law refers to any individual or a group of people who suffered as a result of the injustices they were subjected to. For this reason, Kenya should seek for the reparation from the injustices done by the colonial governments. Kenya is one of the countries which faced the true colors of the colonies. During the struggle for independence, many people were killed. Many politicians who fought for the right of the nation were murdered mercilessly. The British soldier killed the Mau Mau soldiers who were fighting against the colonies on their land as asserted by Ortiz (2014).

What sorts of reparations and what methods would you advise them to use

There are many forms of reparation that Kenyans should claim from the British colony. Firstly, they should seek for restitution from the British to restore the condition of the country they had a hand in destroying. Before the colonial government, Kenyans had their land rich in minerals and nutrients. They had big firms which they used to do firming any many other things. Families of were happy since their sons and daughters were breathing the natural air before many of them being murdered by the British during the war. The turnaround was initiated by the selfish British who wanted to rip where they did not saw. For this reason, they should restitute the country. They should restitute the Kenyan economy which was better before they merciless destruction. They should restore the liberty, human rights families and the citizenship they deprived Kenyans. Alternatively, they should compensate this country for the economic turmoil they had a hand in creating which has haunted this nation up to date (Hobbes, M. 2014). The British should compensate Kenyans especially the families whom they caused pain when they mercilessly murdered their sons and daughters. Moreover, Kenyans whose dignities were lost during this turmoil should seek for satisfaction and guarantees from the British to restore the dignity they had. Lastly, the war between the British and Kenyans, the killings that happened and the injustices Kenyans were subjected to left some Kenyan suffering from psychological issues which ended up ruining their life. Such individuals should seek rehabilitation from the British colony regarding medical and psychological care as asserted by Krishna (2010).

To seek reparation is much easier to say than doing. For this reasons, Kenyans should get one of the best international lawyers whom should be tasked by representing this case in the civil rights courts. They country can also seek help from international human rights bodies whom can give a hand in getting a team of lawyers to help the fight for what they rightfully demand (Castle, 2013).
