Depression and its symptoms Depression is a condition of low mood as well as the loathing to activity that can influence one’s thoughts, traits, emotions, and the sense of doing well (Greenberg, 2015). It is always as a result of a natural reaction to specific life events affecting the life of the people directly. The condition causes chronic symptoms that impact the way one feels, reasons, or carries out his or her daily activity consisting of sleeping, working, or even slumber. The client will show the following symptoms: sadness, irritability, being hopeless, guilty feelings, loss of interests, low energy or increased exhaustion, restlessness, sleeping issues, loss of appetite, suicidal thoughts as well as attempts, slow movements, and problems in concentrating on different activities.  Actual Situation The depressive condition is causing a lot of harm among people in various parts of the world. It has been noted that over 16.2 million grown-ups in the US have had a period of depression in their lives (Alexandre, 2016). The prevalence of the condition is found to be high among female adults as compared to the males. However, the state affects mostly young adults and teenagers of the age of (18-25 years old), which culminates to about 11% (Alexandre, 2016). The adolescents have the highest percentage of the people suffering from the disorder because of their inability to handle the disease efficiently. Their high numbers can also be attributed to their inability to control their emotions suitably, and most of them lack the financial resources to help them seek the right medical assistance for their condition (Greenberg, 2015). As a result, most of the end up suffering from the disorder entirely.

The incidence Rate The incidence is high among the adolescents and the minority races in various parts of the nation (Alexandre, 2016). The case is more upper among the teenagers because of their high number in the abuse of substances and their incapacity to make the right decisions on very vital things in their life. Moreover, the high incidence rates among the minority races as well as the lower socioeconomic demographics have been attributed to the issues that the people have in getting all that they desire in their life (Alexandre, 2016). Problems such as joblessness, mistreatment by those in power, and many more assaults can result in depressive conditions among the people. These demographics also experience a lot of financial stress which contribute to their high numbers. Awareness Levels The people are aware of the disorder following the many interventions that the healthcare sector has put up to help the people understand it better. The people know where to get help if they get themselves in such conditions (Schmaal, 2016). However, there is need to help the people understand the need for managing the disease before it gets out of hand.  Healing Rates The healing rate of depression solely depends on the level at which one complies with the medication that is given to him by the health officers (Phillips, 2015). There are high chances of healing when one uses both the medicinal as well as the therapeutic treatment in controlling the disorder.  Solution In controlling the disorder, one has to avoid stressful activities that may result in him or her getting depressed. One must participate in physical activity as it helps in the elimination of the problem (Phillips, 2015). One must seek medical help as soon as he or she notices symptoms of the disorder. More income has to be invested in research projects that are aimed at finding better ways of taking care of the disease. Conclusion Depression is a deadly disorder that highly affects the emotions of the person. The groups that are profoundly influenced comprise of the youth, women, and minority and the lower socioeconomic demographics (Schmaal, 2016). There is a high level of awareness created for the disorder among the people. The solution is to seek help from the experts at earlier stages of the disease.
