Introduction
When relating to the issues related to management and supervision managers and other leaders play a vital role the organization's growth and development. Mostly the organization of work is done in groups to be able to cover all the operations in the required time. Supervisors have to adopt some strategies that are key to the success of the firm. Within any business, some core areas must be observed to ensure the efficient working of all departments. This includes policy interpretation, goal setting, decision making, communications, and motivation. Irrespective of the number of workers being involved having a management plan is equally important. Some of the advantages of this include having ethics in management, meeting operation deadlines on time, having control over every operation, easy management and good allocation of resources among others.
Management plan
Name, operation and location - reflecting on starting a bakery organization all the rule of management and supervision apply. The bakery business will go by the name Sissy’s Sweets. The ‘sweets’ in the name of the business will be meant to imply the taste associated with the products from the bakery. The ‘Sissy’ reflects on the ownership of the bakery. The business will be located in downtown Macon near the hospital. The business can loosely be described as a stopping point where all sorts of cakes, bread, muffins, doughnuts and other baked goodies. There is a combination of baked goods that one can buy and carry home, cakes which one can eat at the business restaurant and specialized orders that customers order for their special occasions. The major assets that will be used include baking ovens, baking racks, baked goods shelves, storage, counters, tables, and chairs.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Setting and services- A setting made in the form of a restaurant will be made for customers who want to take the snacks from the bakery. The setting will be correctly and neatly arranged in such a way that it will give the customers a good dining experience. The tables will be round to encourage conversation between customers as they enjoy their cakes. Each table will have a maximum of five chairs around it will the least being two for couples and small families. The anchored and portable methods of placement will both be used depending on where the table is located. For those tables near the wall and in corners the anchored placement will be used where the tables will be fixed to the wall with no mobility. Those tables and chairs in the main open area will be portable such that they can be moved to fit different settings. This will serve when guests are less likely to mingle, creating a high table turnover and more profit per table. The total number of chairs will be one hundred and twenty tables for a start. There will be a space left aside with only a few chairs mainly for resting and entertainment. Space will consist of pool tables, smart mirrors, music instruments among other entertainment gadgets. The restaurant will only offer the baked products and different forms of beverages. It is a no food restaurant. The business will run from 8:30 in the morning and be closed at 6:00 p.m. On expansion, the workers will have the privilege to work on shifts with each of them working for four days per week. All roles will be shared in line with the organization settings. This implies that there will be workers in the preparation sector, those in the kitchen, cleaners and customer attendants. The advantage of this is to ensure that there are no workers burdened or overworked in a certain area. The supervisor will oversee all the workers and make necessary changes depending on how the business will thrive.
General outlook- the walls of the bakery will create a first impression on entering to the enviroment. The walls will be decorated combination of neutrals-white and ivory and bold touches of brown to reflect a warm and welcoming tone. The brown is a representation of the color of most baked goodies. The neutrals represents the color and decorations that will be made on the baked items. The top wall will have some bright lightings while the ceiling will have some fixed eye-catching light fixtures. Approximately 2 percent of the wall coatings will be made of tiles not to make the walls monotone.
Financial considerations - With Sissy’s Sweets being a sole proprietorship business the startup summary consists of expenses taking 40 percent, assets 23 percent, investment 34 percent and loans 3 percent. One of the reasons for setting this business is to acquire independence and flexibility associated with running a personal business. The main keys to the success of the bakery business are offering education to workers on various programs, giving back to the society through quality products, observing health and government rules and specifying the amount of production at a given time span.
The objective of the business is to increase customer experience and develop a better liking for baked goodies. It is also the aim of the business to create a conducive environment for customers whose aim is to enjoy different baked products while in the firm’s environment. The major financial objectives to be achieved in the first fiscal year include:
Attain a sale of $15000 in the first year
Increase second-year sales by 30 percent and third year by 15 percent.
Expand the reception area by the third year and at the same time hire more workers
These among other objectives that are aimed at favoring all involved parties will be implemented when the business is started and achieved on time. On the expansion of the business, a forum will be created to enable interaction with investors, distributors and other interested parties to help our company grow.
Management Philosophy- the management will be aimed at working from customer service to staff management to high-level marketing. There will be a supervisor who will oversee the working of all staff. He will ensure all workers are in on time, cleanliness is observed, the set of tables is done accordingly, cakes are baked as ordered and customers are served on time. The supervisor will also be responsible for taking orders for those carrying their cakes home or those making orders for special occasions. All reports will be made directly to the supervisor for the right corrections to be made. There will be a cashier at the restaurant setting who will be responsible for all payments made at the bakery. There will be a waiting desk personnel who will serve as a receptionist to welcome and direct all customers. The wait staff must know the menu and proper serving procedures and ensure all customers are served. Upon starting the bakery, all workers will amount to sixteen. One supervisor, one receptionist, one cashier, five wait staff, six cooks and two cleaners.
Mission statement - the mission of Sissy’s sweets will be ‘Completely delight and satisfy our guests' where we will work towards giving our customers a pleasant experience.
