As technology advances there is the increased need for wireless coverage in it residential areas. It is especially necessary during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic since the public needs to be well informed on the virus. This need attracted the attention of telecommunication companies that devised varied strategies to meet the demands of locals. The telecommunications industry meets such demand using small antennas on micro-towers. A small cell is a term employed by the wireless industry to define a group of small antennas whose design allows them to be installed at lower heights in the community and these can operate closer to mobile devices used by the public ( Transmission Facilities Coordination Group, 2019) . A small antenna micro-tower on the other hand is two to four feet long and is used to provide wireless coverage that equals to a two hundred and fifty to five hundred feet radius. In some instances, the micro-tower can be made by installing multiple antennas that are between one and one and a half feet long in a canister that is between two and four feet long. Opting for micro-towers in place for the provision of wireless services means that the area to be covered will need numerous small antenna micro-towers and small cell ZTAs to be erected ( Transmission Facilities Coordination Group, 2019) . As a technology, small antenna micro-towers and small cell ZTAs are effective in reducing mobile service congestion in the community. Such technology is crucial for helping pass along information on the Corona virus pandemic and helping people understand all aspects surrounding it and how to keep themselves safe.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused panic across the world and the measures of social distancing and staying at home make it almost impossible to pass along information unless through media that employs wireless connections ( Baxenberg & Turner, 2020) . Therefore Small antennas and small cell ZTA would be most appropriate for such a role because can deliver increased mobile broadband coverage for the community. They are improved technologies when compared to a one hundred foot macro-antenna whose coverage capacity is only a seven hundred and fifty feet radius. At only twenty feet, the small antenna micro-tower has the capacity to cover a similar area. It means that more people would receive information on the pandemic than when using macro-antennas. When considering upcountry areas, telecommunication companies can install at least fifty seven micro-tower antennas in the diameter of the micro-tower ( Transmission Facilities Coordination Group, 2019 ) . Opting for micro-towers means that the needed coverage can be achieved across the community. As it is, everyone across the world needs to be informed on the pandemic and the Small Antenna Micro-tower and Small Cell ZTA would work best in helping spread the necessary information ( Baxenberg & Turner, 2020) . One beneficiary of the technology expressed how coping with the Covid-19 pandemic was made easier through the information he received as a result of wireless connections.

The interviewee stated “I was initially scared and confused but became more clam once I learned more about the pandemic through the internet.” He was a beneficiary of the Small Antenna Micro-tower and Small Cell ZTA as he was exposed to strong a strong wireless connection. After gaining crucial information on the pandemic through the wireless connection, he identified how to behave and react to ensure he stayed safe. His belief was that with many people in their houses, using wireless connections for work and for information, a stronger connection was necessary to ensure everyone benefited. Therefore the Small Antenna Micro-tower and Small Cell ZTA served this function well.
Despite their efficiency in wireless connections Small Antenna Micro-tower and Small Cell ZTA have varied side effects on their users. They produce radio frequency emissions that have adverse side effects on people especially when they are placed in residential areas and close to the people. Before the pandemic, the interviewee’s community had raised issues on the likely consequences of the Small Antenna Micro-tower and Small Cell ZTA in their community and in close proximity to the people. The pandemic changed their mind to a great extent. They were now appreciative of how the strong wireless connections were helping them get appropriate information on the pandemic.
The interviewee expressed, “many of us forgot about the problem we had with the technology and were now focused on acquiring as much information on the pandemic as we could.” The community understood that there was massive misinformation spreading on the pandemic. A strong wireless connection enabled them filter facts from untruths ( Baxenberg & Turner, 2020) . The Small Antenna Micro-tower and Small Cell ZTA made it possible for them to spend considerable time on sites that provided them with facts on the Covid-19 pandemic. He expressed that despite the adverse effects that had resulted from the rapid spread of the pandemic, the Small Antenna Micro-tower and Small Cell ZTA provided him with some form of calm. This enables him and his community to handle it better during the initial spread. He explained that even now, the wireless connection is helping him keep up with his work and receive crucial updates on the pandemic in his community and across the world.
