Information and Communication Technology has significant impact on any society and the world at large. Information ethics relates closely to the ICT impact on the environment and the social circle. In modern-day society, political, social, and economic functions intensely depend on digitalization of operations and communication of information digitally (Royakkers, Timmer, Kool, & van Est, 2018). A conclusion can be drawn that human beings live in a global village message community since every societal operation and functions depend on digital communication gadgets and platforms such as electronic media, phones, internet emails, and computers.

Some of the main ethical issues in modern-day society include privacy, intellectual property, information overload, security issues, censorship, and gender discrimination. The analysis of these ethical issues is not only based on universal human rights but also geographical and cultural issues present within the globe (Brey, 2012). A lot of enormous challenge exists when trying to avoid uniformity and isolation on the international digital platform with the current growth of digital communication. Social media platform require constant surveillance to protect the user and promote privacy, security, and trust to try and solve the ethical issues present in digital communication (Von Solms & Van Niekerk, 2013). Unethical digital practices present a lot of challenges to users especially to the user who regularly uses social media platform to express themselves and hence these service provider needs to work and invest resources in promoting and maintaining ethics to improve proper digital communication.

The Multinational and Global Aspect of the Article 

The Societal and Ethics Issues of digitalization article tries to shine some light on important issues that trend together with global issues primarily on security and privacy issues which manifest themselves in the modern-day society (Busse, 2012). Modernization has led to the growth of digital communication, and a lot of challenges have emerged in connection to ethical conducts that should be upheld when using the social media platform. Furthermore, the article examines the global social, political, and economic ethical issues influenced by digital communication.

Important Questions to the Author 

Some of the most crucial questions that I would pose to the author include, how can IT Specialist help to improve digital ethics across the world, mainly on social media communication platform? Second, how can ICT be integrated into the world economy and help to improve the living standards of people, especially on eradicating poverty? Lastly, what are the existing implications of digital ethical issues?
