Vampires refer to a group of beings that subsist by feeding on the life essence especially on the blood of other animals or humans. Most often, they are portrayed in super-human form. Various theories hold views that respond differently towards or against the existence and actions of vampires as discussed below:

Natural law

Natural law holds the view that every being existent in nature is purposefully meant to exist, whether they are malicious of beneficial. The theory of natural law therefore opines that existence of vampires is by nature and humans have no moral authority to question nature. In this regard, the theory of natural law supports existence of vampires.

Utilitarianism

Utilitarianism judges the right or wrong on the basis of the outcomes. An action is judged as ethical or unethical depending on the severity of the consequences it brings. Utilitarianism would respond negatively to the existence of vampires based on the fact that it causes severe harm to animals and people. Therefore, utilitarianism would respond negatively against the existence of vampires.

Religious

From a religious point of view, vampires are seen as socially and morally unethical. Religion is a system of belief and worship of the supernatural being that is deemed to be in control of every situation. Generally, religion holds the view that there is a creator in control of every situation and would only be happy if his creations are safe. Vampires however, violate the right for harmonious existence of animals in nature. Therefore, religion is against the existence of vampires.

Deontological

Deontologists judge an action based on the rules. Most existing rules guarantee that animals and humans have a right to live without any threats. Since vampires act in contrary to the rule that guarantees life to every animal, deontological theory is against the existence of vampires.

Aretaic

Aretaic theory is based on the opinion that only virtues are moral and ethical. The actions of vampires violate the virtues of safety and security to both animals and man. As a result, aretaic theorists do not encourage existence of vampires.
