Incentives are the most significant ways of encouraging, motivating, and increasing employees’ trust in a firm. Most employees face financial problems and dissatisfaction because of low wages or a lack of motivation or reward from their employers. The Sodexo case study highlights the benefits of rewards and incentives to a firm.

After considering the Sodexo case study, it is critical for businesses to offer various incentives to improve employee retention and employee cultural practices in a firm. Incentives allow employees to perform to their maximum capacity, resulting in asset growth and many other benefits to a company. Most firms treasure a satisfied and gratified workforce ( Haider et al., 2015). When companies invest in beneficial employee appreciation programs, the employees continue to work hard and contribute positively to the companies’ growth. Incentives make companies have a positive culture that creates more space for employees, thereby motivating employees and enhancing their longevity in their jobs.

According to the Sodexo case study, some of the rewards and recognitions awarded to the employees are interesting . The biggest beneficiaries of Sodexo are healthcare workers in various locations who use an incentive called “Sodexo CARES,” a program that has been used for several years and has recorded good results (Mathis and Jackson, 2010). For example, at one hospital, dieticians came up with a new system for ordering medication and other devices online, which had not been implemented in most hospitals. Several other examples show how Sodexo has maximized incentives as a part of its inherent culture in multiple industries and jobs. The example of the incentives and rewards accorded to some unique innovations in the Sodexo case study shows the importance of employees receiving recognition and awards. While several benefits can be accrued from rewarding employees, employees’ motivation is the most significant benefit of the incentives and rewards.
