The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank was founded by Tony Collier in the year 1973 who was a resident of Pasadena city in Los Angeles. Since its founding in 1973, the company has distributed approximately one billion pounds of food to the residents of Los Angeles who are at risk of starvation. The organization relies heavily on donors who donate food and the organization stores them. The organization adheres to the American feeding standards when they distribute food to the individuals who face starvation. Volunteers and warehouse staffs are trained how to sort, process and donate food to the starving individuals. The mission and vision statement of the organization has attracted donors and well-wishers. As a result, the organization has realized a steady inflow of donation throughout the year.

The mission of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community; the Vision is that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles. The Private sector partners want to associate its self with a company that mission and vision since they depict the purpose of the organization (Bart & Baetz, 1998). The private sector includes business enterprises, national, international and multinational corporations, philanthropic and corporate foundations, financial institutions and private individuals. Mission Statement communicates the reason why the organization exists and how it aims to serve key investors. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has a clear mission statement that has enabled it to attract private sector partners who want to give back to the society; this explains why the organization has existed for over four decades. Vision stamen outlines where the company wants to be in future and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has a clear vision statement that is why many private sector partners have been associated with it for a long time so that the company realizes its vision (Bart, Bontis & Taggar, 2001). There other charitable organizations that have started within the same period as the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and others after but the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has outlived them; this is because they had no clear vision and mission for their organization hence they had no set goals. In order to attract donors each charitable organization should have a clear mission and vision stamen or else the organization will collapse in future.
