Statistical data in is used in healthcare to augment confidence in dealing with uncertainty thus smarter decision making in health care management sector. Healthcare involves people and this in turn will involve with dealing with specific population samples and their characteristics. There is increasing inclination for evidence based practice in healthcare delivery. Statistics makes it possible to conduct research by determining the desired sample sizes and evaluate the results of the studies. This statistical inferences from the medical research form the premise for implementing EBP in healthcare (Boulesteix, Wilson, & Hapfelmeier, 2017). Analysis of research data can be extrapolated and applied in clinical practice for making diagnosis and determination of the validity of interventions.

It is therefore keen to note that statistical concepts need to be employed in various ways and is used by various players concerned with the health industry example governments need statistical data in gauging the wellbeing of the population as well as offer cooperation to the service agencies using statistical information. Health providing institutions are the key benefactors of statistical data as they use this to measure or in the analysis of their performance outcomes as well as offering data-driven services or programs to the population.

The example of the application of statistics in my practice is statistics is used in the analysis of patient samples to aid in clinical diagnosis. Research from pre-clinical trials on the use of certain drugs are analyzed to form the framework for the adoption of the drug in clinical use (Buncher, & Tsay, 2019). The appropriate therapeutic levels of paracetamol, for example, are determined from the analysis of statistical data from experimental studies. The statistical data are also used to determine the trends of development of drug resistance by bacteria by analyzing the effective therapeutic levels that initiate bactericidal effects.
