The purpose of this essay is to inform you on the Stewards of the Profession in the Army and how they demonstrate stewardship. The army doctrine implies that the army profession comprises of two mutually supporting societies: The Profession of Arms and Army Civilian Corps. The Army Profession demonstrates ways of being an Army Civilian or a Soldier. The Army Profession provides guidelines and culture. It also offers a framework for inherent relations and ethical procedures. The Army Profession has five important elements that define its profession. It consists of Military Expertise, Stewardship, Honorable Service, Trust, and Esprit de Corps. According to Godoroja, (2018), being a steward in the army implies that at all levels, soldiers need to demonstrate and do their duties ethically. Army professionals are ethical stewards in the profession who give strategic direction, put down missions, and highlight priorities in their services. According to Army Doctrine Reference Publication 1, stewardship of the army profession ensures that soldiers adhere to their primary elements both in the present and in the future.

Army professionals are a critical group of experts that the government certifies to design, generate, and support the public. They also serve under civilian authority, and people and government entrust them to defend the constitution as well as the interests and rights of American individuals. This elaboration shows that they should demonstrate a high level of stewardship. This aspect implies that there should be an ethical foundation based on legal and moral values. The values comprise of loyalty, respect, selfless service, integrity, honor, and personal courage. Stewardship in the army profession also ensures that military and civilians demonstrate three profession certification criteria: competence, character, and commitment. Competence means that all professionals across the army demonstrate the capability to do their responsibilities and attain goals with a high level of discipline and standards. Character implies that personnel is dedicated and adhere to the army`s guidelines, virtues, mission, ethics, morals, and decisions (Belscamper & Allen, 2017). On the other hand, commitment requires army professionals to contribute honorably to the country, do their roles diligently, and aim to strive and morally accomplish goals and objectives of the country despite challenges, adversity, and obstacles.

As demonstrated above, the army profession's stewardship is an important element because it makes sure that soldiers maintain the other four characteristics. The feature ensures that all army leaders, civilians, and the military take care of the citizens, resources, and the Army family. The factor makes sure that the army maintains its trustful military profession both in the present and tomorrow. To ensure that there is excellent stewardship in the army profession, army leaders are continuously supporting juniors by establishing objectives and processes that benefit both civilians and military accessions. They also have enacted guidelines that guide creation and talent management across all personnel in the army. The army leaders have also advocated for the sufficient resources to maintain the army that aims to balance duties associated with the army profession and their ethical values. They have also continuously maintained robust educational programs for all army personnel (Hanna, 2016). During the beginning of training and civilians during their ACP (Army Acculturation Program), soldiers have learned to live with and respect Army ethos.

Achieving stewardship of the army profession is often difficult. There are multiple efforts that the army has planned to make army stewards to their job continuously. For instance, leaders have emphasized the approaches, plans, and guidelines to enhance their robust foundation. Additionally, there is learning of professional military education programs to improve professional development. Senior leaders within the army teach multiple units to maintain the basic principles. There is also frequent assessment of army professionals' values and activities to ensure maximum adherence to the army's legal and ethical aspects. Senior leaders have also reinforced all the elements of the army professional at all levels. Army leaders also act as stewards because they develop and improve the organization both in the short and long term. They also self-regulate and self-generate through the provision of a positive working environment. They also create a transparent, inclusive, and adequate climate that enhances personal and professional growth for all Army members. For the safe working environment, senior leaders acting as stewards means that all personnel are valued, and any unethical behaviors are not tolerated.

Overall, stewardship in the army profession is a noble duty for both civilians and the military to care for citizens and resources as well as their own job that American people entrust them. Their decisions and action must be right at any given time. All army personnel should also be responsible, faithful, and respectful stewards to advance and strengthen the army's values, trust, and enhance the legal that they inherited from their seniors. They are responsible for holding others and themselves accountable for their actions to strive for excellence and achieve a high level of work standards. Above all, they must perform their duties consistent with army values and strongly uphold Army Ethic as well as conducting themselves in a professional manner worthy of their status.
