Introduction
Mercy Health began the implementation of an Electronic Health Records (EHRs) system to streamline processes and provide unparalleled access to patient data and information across the practice, thus promoting patient care and safety (Lavoie-Tremblay et al., 2018) . EHRs will facilitate continuous exchange among primary care, specialty services, and other providers while allowing the ongoing access to patient information for evidence-based research.
Stakeholders
Stakeholders are crucial entities that play an integral role in an organizations operations or performance. Stakeholders also play an integral role in guaranteeing the successful implementation of any evidence-based project by providing skills, leadership, knowledge, and finance in the organization to allow for the proposed change (Gordon & Pollack, 2018) . Stakeholder Concerns
Different stakeholders have different concerns, but the most prevalent issue is on how to increase the value of the change management process. Value is defined as the ratio of benefits to cost – this is not only about controlling but reducing the rising costs of healthcare (Gordon & Pollack, 2018) . In the round table discussions at Mercy Health, David Fredrick, physician, posits that the implementation of EHRs at the institution should not primarily focus on controlling costs but the value of EHR adoption on health. Thus, in healthcare, value is the clinical benefit derived from the money spent. Dante Ginsberg, a patient at Mercy health stated that there are differences on the perception of value between a patient and a consumer (Lavoie-Tremblay et al., 2018) . Ginsberg alleges that the perception of a patient undergoing treatment for a condition is different from that of a healthcare end user who may procure goods and services throughout the course of their lifetime but does not engage in active treatment. In the adoption of EHR, Griffins stated that most patients in active care are concerned about the security and privacy of their health information as well as about how the information is used (Lavoie-Tremblay et al., 2018) . Though, the general public may be willing to accept some privacy and security risk based in the benefits of interoperable health records.
Stakeholder communication is critical to the success of any change initiative. Having proper communication channels results in stakeholders understanding the objectives of the change, build long-term positive relationships, and seek their feedback as they are the people who will shape and influence the success of the project (Gordon & Pollack, 2018) .
