Critical Thinking
Part 1
Stress is a common experience, but it happens that individuals find themselves falling victim of the effects that the said phenomenon has on their lives. For instance, when one is stressed, he or she is less productive or motivated. However, in an article “Stressed? Here’s how to effectively manage it”, Chris Cebollero (2018) notes that becoming aware of stress is one effective way of anticipating its effects and avoiding them to ensure that one remains productive, motivated, and optimistic. In most cases, individuals seek therapy or counseling sessions to manage their stress. They know that they are stressed but lack awareness of the condition they are in. From a personal perspective, the article’s focus on the benefits of awareness demonstrates the author’s understanding of the difference between knowing and being aware. Personally, being aware means that one has extra knowledge about how stress is affecting his or her life. That was the major takeaway from the article in question.
Part 2
For the intelligence test, I scored 45 which falls within the category of 35-55 points. The interpretation is that my emotional intelligence level is fine. I have good relationships with some individuals, but I find difficulty working with others. That is accurate as I do not consider being in an environment where I feel that there will be no productivity but more of conflict. I invest in building relationships and always start from a positive until I feel or detect that a colleague might not be interested in interacting with me. The score on the assessment quiz describes me as an assertive individual meaning that I am a fair and strong individual. I am not likely to allow another person to infringe on my rights without questioning them or addressing the issue. I think that the scores on both assessments complement each other in that they project my identity.
