Communication is a process which involves the exchange of ideas or facts typically between two or more parties who hold different positions in an organization. The purpose of communication is often to archive mutual harmony. The communication process is naturally dynamic ( Adler, Rodman, & Du, 2016) . As such, the process needs to be considered as continuous and dynamic interaction affected by several variables. Besides, communication models are a systemic representation of the procedure, which helps in comprehending how communication works can be done. Communication models form the general perspective of communication, and synergetic is one of the communication models.

In the article ‘Aurora EMS working toward 24 hours paid coverage’, communication components are evident and active. Some of the components include; sender, idea, encoding, channel, receiver, decoding, and feedback. Ed Opp sends a message to Dearborn County. The message is about a funding request to hire extra employees. In addition, Opp encodes the message by converting the subject matter into words by citing his reasons to seek the funds; the medium is formal writing. Dearborn County receives the message and comprehends Opp’s message. In the article, the feedback for the message is on hold until Dearborn county council holds a meeting and come up with a decision for the matter (Alberts, Nakayama, & Martin, 2010).

The synergetic model is applicable in the situation presented by the article. In the article, various variables influence the communication dynamic between Opp and Dearborn County. To begin with, the individual force; particularly, Opp's field of experience influences his communication to the county council due to the lack of personal resource in his field of expertise. He seeks funding to address workforce insufficiency in his field of experience. Societal force influences communication. As a leader, Opp perceives the need to improve service delivery in his field area in order to improve public safety. The cultural aspect of the synergetic model is portrayed in the situation where Odd perceives perceive life: he takes human life in high esteem, and this is why he advocates for its protection. Furthermore, the context element of synergetic is applicable in the article. Odd communicates with etiquette and comprehensively lay down his reasons in a proper manner, and this is why the county council considers his plea and draft new contract to address the issue of workforce insufficiency.
