Tanavoli interests me most because of his pronounced artistry and because he is the first renowned Iranian sculptor of all time and still alive today. Furthermore, his mode of producing art is interesting. The way he fuses human and various cultural motifs to deliver sculptural statements ( Heech, 2011) . Specifically, his work tends to imbue distinct meaning, for example, Persian poetry alongside architecture delve into the subjective understanding of the actualities than with its external outlook.
Locate on the Internet one piece of the artist's work that is not found in A World of Art . Then- IN YOUR OWN WORDS - Fully describe its media (form / materials) and content (meaning / story). Include the full website where you found the piece. For full credit, your response must be at least 60 words.
The art of choice is the Heech and Chair II of 1973. The heech (nothing) is the cat sculpted seated on a surface of a chair, and its head is consisted of letter ha ( Saeidian, 2012) . The medium used was sculpture, design, and painting. The entire thing is built on a metaphor as it signifies a funny little creature glaring into the world with little eyes.

Discuss the main advantages of synthetic painting media
First, it is less expensive. Thus users would be able to save money. Second, synthetic painting dries quickly. It makes it attractive to most artists who may need the job done quickly. It can be used for long-term because of lifelong nature, which makes it more attractive. Notably, they can be built up to superior required thickness, and they stand by a wide-ranging variation of dry and smooth surfaces ( Duan et al., 2017) . Also, supplementary coloring agents can be used. Therefore, the artist can modify the product based on the demand and improve the outlook based on the need. Consequently, it offers the most painting medium that every artist can use with ease. Learning artists can then understand the work without difficulties through trying various forms of coloring agents.
Another merit is that it offers the ability to re-work the painting, thus making it possible for flexibility to amend significant changes in the art. In the process of furnishing or mistakes, a painter can re-do the work efficiently and alter the possible required alterations on the art. The ability of the paint to work on various surfaces makes it readily usable. As a result, artists can use it to decorate objects that are used in ordinary life. Therefore, it has characteristic of easy to use.
Explain the rise of Dada and the emergence of Surrealism
Dada, also known as Dadaism, erupted after world war one. As a movement, it opposed barbarism rule during this era. It made use of visual art in graphic design and theatre performance. It was thought to have started in 1917, and major contributors were Tristan Tzara and Hugo Ball ( Van Basten, Stigter, Kensche, & Peschar, 2014) . It then erupted in various regions of the world including Berlin, New York, Hannover, and Paris . It regarded itself as anti-art in the sense that it rejected traditions that were infringing exploration and instead adopt those that give more freedom that was not bound by any form of traditions. Hanna Hoch was one of the pronounced artists during this time and her use of photo-montage. Many other artists contributed to the movement in various parts of Europe and America in equal measure.
Surrealism started by Andre Breton in 1924 who was a Dadaist writer. However, it is believed to have started as early as 1917 with paintings of Giorgio De Chirico. His work then reaches surrealist, German-based Dadaist, Max Ernst, who later relocated to Paris in 1922 when Dada was ending, thus setting the way for surrealism. Together with other artists, Ernst experimented with the use of hypnotism as a method to access unconscious imagination, but then group declined that it was a dangerous experiment. Then they came up with automatism in writing to establish words with neither thought nor planning.
