Target is an upscale discount retailer that deals in high-quality merchandise and other products provided in their stores. The company has its’ headquarter in the United States with over 1800 stores spread all over the country. The company has thousands of workers not only in the United States but also in its global locations such as India. Being the second largest retail store in the United States after Walmart, Target Corporation boasts of its quality and good working environment for the employees which makes it the best place to work. The company has branded itself as the best destination for the customers and employees by delivering outstanding value, continuous innovation, and an exemption experience. Having established itself as a brand amongst American citizens, Target Corporation has remained amongst the top retail store businesses globally, offering the best working opportunity for the employees while also creating a chance for growth and development. Through its effective leadership, the company has continued to grow over the past years thus promising the employees of a better future. 

Target Corporation offers the best working environment for its employees by standing out as a company that values diversity and equality in society. As the champions of diversity and inclusivity, the company continues to build a strong and talented team of workers with the aim of creating an opportunity for all categories of people in society. The employees of the company are represented by 53% being female and 47% being male ( Bond & Haynes, 2014 ). This shows that the company provides equal work opportunity for all people regardless of gender. Working in a diverse environment where both genders are equally represented offers good work experience and motivation to the employees. It also encourages the sharing of skills and ideas between people of different backgrounds. To further make it more diverse, the company also has a large number of workers from the minority groups. Even though the Whites have a larger representation of the workforce, the team is made up of fairly a large number of the minority groups. This allows for the exchange of culture and ideas and provides a pleasant experience working with people from different cultures. It provides an opportunity to learn and share new ideas as workers and to get to understand the different cultures. Working in a company that cherishes diversity and promotes equality in society can be one of the best experiences for the employees because it provides an opportunity for growth and development. Target Company has for the past years stood out as one of the most ethical organizations in the world. In 2010, the company was recognized by Ethisphere Institute as the world’s most ethical company. The company has been demonstrating an understanding of the strong ethical business practices. Target shows commitment to ethical business practices and generous community support. The mission of the company is a great value, community, diversity, and environment. At least 5% of the company’s income is put back to the community in the form of corporate social responsibility. The military and veteran support, social service programs and education programs are some of the areas where the company engages in the community support ( Ferrell & Fraedrich, 2015 ). The company has built its reputation by engaging in ethical business practices that promote good judgment and integrity in every business decision that is made by the company — standing out as the world’s most ethical businesses can provide a good experience to the employees. It feels good to work in a reputable company that is known globally for its ethical business practices. For this reason, Target Corporation is the best company to work. Also, the company has built a good reputation with the community through its generous engagement in the corporate social responsibility, and it provides a good image that the employees can identify with. One feels proud to identify themselves with the company as their working place. Target Corporation has not been involved in any immoral business practice such as tax evasion, labor laws violation or any law-breaking activity. It is one of the companies that has hardly been involved in lawsuits for certain violations. This has further improved its reputation it a good place to work. 

Target Corporation is one of the most innovative companies in the United States, especially in technology. Over the past years, the company has invested a lot of funds for the development of technology. The company is investing in technology to make it easier, faster and convenient for the customers and employees to effectively enjoy the whole experience. The employees are provided with endless opportunities to innovate and develop their career as they take part in the innovation of new technologies. Most of the modern technologies that the company uses are originated from the ideas of the employees themselves. As the employees interact with all kinds of modern technology, they get to grow and develop as they understand every advancement in technology. A rewarding career starts I a rewarding workplace and Target always provide endless opportunities for the employees to grow professionally. Team members are usually empowered and encouraged to be innovative. The company has clear and challenging goals that are designed to facilitate the development of knowledgeable and creative leaders. 

Employees are encouraged to take part in creative activities and allowed to take part in certain decisions which allows them to develop and grow their leadership and decision making skills. Employees are further trained in any new technology that so that they are well equipped and talented to use it. Workers at Target have knowledge of any new technology, and this provides them with the opportunity to grow. With the ever advancing technology and the increasing demand for employees who know technology, gaining more skills in modern technological development increases the chance of an individual’s career development. 

Target Corporation stands as the second largest retailer in America and also occupies a top rank globally. The company has stayed ahead in the current ultra-competitive business environment by setting challenging goals that make it more efficient, intelligent and reliable ( Dudin &Frolova, 2015 ). Continued innovation and provision of the best experience to the customers has made the company remain at the top amid the ever-growing competition within the retail industry. Because Target is a global company with an international reputation, employees feel happy and motivated to work and associate with it. It is a company that has established its place in the global market and continues to grow every year as it tries to maintain a competitive advantage. 

One of the policies at Target Corporation is to offer equal employment opportunities, and this is reflected in its hiring policies. The company’s hiring policies are done fairly, and everyone has the chance to work at the organization as long as they are qualified ( Mallikarjunappa & Nayak, 2013 ). The impact of this is that it enhances workplace diversity and promotes a cohesive working environment where people from different cultural backgrounds share ideas. Another practice at the firm is that every recruit is undertaken through training so that they can understand how the whole system works. This is done to ensure that the employee is equipped to deliver the best services towards the fulfillment of the goals of the company. The impact of this practice is that it enhances the performance of the employees while also boosting their morale. Another practice of the company is that 5% of the profits are used in the corporate social responsibility where different community projects are funded. The company has been able to fund a variety of projects within the community. The impact of this is that it builds the reputation and the image of the company and works as a marketing strategy to make the company be known globally. 

The various practices and policies that relate to the work attitude in the organizations are the compensation policies, promotion policies and growth, and development opportunities. Employees’ compensation affects their work attitude and morale. Most employees usually compare their pay with what other firms pay so that they can determine whether they are paid competitively. Any perception of underpayment could adversely affect the morale of the employees and lower their productivity. To solve this, the organization needs to pay workers a competitive wage. Promotion policies can also affect the morale and attitude of the employees. Employees do not expect to remain in the same position for long in one organization because they desire for career development. As a result, there must be proper promotion policies that allow employees the opportunity to get to the higher ranks and achieve career growth and development. This can be an effective way to boost the attitude and morale of workers.
